They say "Attributes matter". Maybe they do, but when 99%of players have ratings that are +-2 of each other, it's hard to notice.

As someone that played the Beta, the gameplay was a lot smoother compared to last year. Not drastically different, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay.

Might be time to have a talk about EA needing to cancel this series or shelf it for a few years and build something from ground up.

Add anything you want, but if the team strategies don't get touched nothing they do matters because it ends up all the same.

I feel like this dev team cares, but man their hands must be tied big time.

Agreed Fiddy.. very underwhelmed at that reveal. Looks like they might have added some presentation elements, but I couldn't really tell what else they have done. Were the draft cutscenes in the game last year? The fact I never made it to the draft, tells you how bored I am of the this series.

I really do miss 2k hockey.

The draft scene is for the revamped Be A Pro. no more pricey pond hockey. Appears you can play in the world juniors, play in the CHL and get sent to AHL.

They have done a bunch in terms of the detail around the game. The gameplay has improved (specifically making the AI a bit smarter and more difficult to play against), even if it’s not to everyone’s liking. They have done a lot of work on the graphics from a model perspective, specifically the new goalie gear and gloves and the updated textures. Franchise mode might not have a ton of extra bells and whistles, but the mode is still pretty deep and have all the rules/contracts.

BAP I don’t play but I know it’s missing a lot. If they can add depth to that mode, then they can focus on adding more additional details to other modes. The potential is there, it’s just about if they are given the resources to reach it because the new heads have shown they have a pretty solid vision these last 2 years.

Most recent dev team seems to have things going for them plan wise, but again they can add all they want, but until the core gameplay gets updated with new team and even say player strategies its all for not.. IMO.

Same moves, same goals, same everything. It's a bore. Which stinks because the NHL is my favorite sport.

Expecting the worst, and hopefully will be surprised. We shall see..

Game trailer shows the same game we’ve been playing for years. EA is lost.

Who is complaining about the AI “being better” and what exactly are they better at?

NHL 21 and beyond have had objectively worse AI when it comes to executing real hockey concepts like cycling, dmen spacing, center driving on the rush.

I’m saying it isn’t fully there in terms of being smarter and more difficult. It’s way better than it was in 23 and 24 where you could just skate up the wing completely unchallenged. But it still can be a bit too easy and the offense too repetitive when it come to funneling to the net and not cycling like they did in the last gen of games.
