Is there anything you NEED to see in order to purchase this year?>

For me my biggest complaint over the last few years is the way the computer attacks especially on the power play. They never seem to setup around the point and take shots. its always to the net. I know in past games people have messed with sliders and different edits to get something. But I would love to see with this new tech they talking about the computer teams working it around, taking shots from the points. This is a huge need for me.

    What about you all?

For me it's simply just a price drop (once the game goes on sale in a few months) or winning a giveaway.

While each years game has minimal changes, if you don't get the game for a few years it makes it feel like a wave of changes happens (while you can play the game you do have for a few years).

NHL24 for instance I saw that they finally have targeted passing. I've been wanting that for ages since I hate the passing in these games where my guy often passes to someone I didn't want him to pass to, but now I can choose a specific player I want to pass to like you can do in NBA games. And seems like 25 added changes to franchise mode. Those are the 2 main modes I play anyways so anything extra from 26 would be a bonus for me during this few year gap between buying games.

Gameplay isnt changing from year to year. Most of the time the Change sliders so IT feels different. With presentation they Push more. For me as franshise mode Player i would buy If it Had an Editor where U can Change everything Like MLB the Show or Madden have

Not only in regards to NHL, but sports games in general this year. I find myself realizing it's not worth it anymore for me paying over 70 bucks a game. Then it's constantly tweaked through the season, and I find myself constantly restarting seasons.
For NHL specifically, as many have mentioned, I would like more of a AI setup on offense. They did get the dumping in more this year, but I feel they don't really set up and cycle like I have seen during actual NHL games.
If the AI was improved in these regards, I might think about buying it. This is the first year I have not purchased any of the sports games upon release. With EA play I might just ride it out until they are available on there or when the titles are under 40 bucks.

To be honest, EA games are not worth getting at release. The games play great out of the box and then they screw it up as soon as the first update is release.

I like what I’ve read so far about each team playing differently. If this is actually true and I can feel a difference from one opponent to the next then I’m in. If it’s just a gimmick that falls on its face post-patch then I’m out.
