What’s wrong with poke checking? Offline it still seems to be too easy for my liking. Online everyone has No Contest in WOC so it’s kind of made to be useless.

Poke check works well at offline modes.

Tried HUT today first time and there against CPU poke check wasn't that trustful or fun. Stick blade going through pucks often, but not always. But i have low rated HUT cards, so that could also explain that issue.

Btw, got some penalties at Franchise Mode after the patch. Not many, but now every game i played there were couple penalties. Let's see if that continues now. Before the patch i had 7 powerplays at 11 games with Seattle Kraken. That was too low.

I noticed that, too, even though I played 1 franchise game today. Had 4 powerplays, which is alot since last time I played had 1 pp in 5 games.

Poke check does not “work” offline. I am strictly an offline player and being able to spam poke check with impunity is a problem. Also, the poke checking does not cause the puck to dislodge in cases where it should. Don’t get me started on hitting. As long as your are in protect puck you can skate around defenders and bounce off their hits like it’s pin ball. Look, I am a 40 year old male with novice “stick skills”. I am easily able to deke and skate through 3 to 4 defenders at a time to get to the crease with anyone who as at least 84 deking. Even without X factors that boost these abilities. And to those saying “offline”, there is no “offline” this year. The game uses the exact same tuner set for online as it does franchise mode. EA has said as much and confirmed this. Yes, playing defense against the CPU is incredibly easy. However, the CPU cannot stop me as a human player because protecting the puck and deking in general are way too easy this year. I want the CPU to be able to clog up the crease and out a fight up this year

We say offline because in WOC, everyone uses similar traits in the loadouts. Offline it’s just the rosters don’t have everyone with no contest.

It sounds like you are talking about the defensive AI not poke checking enough, which I’d agree with. Which difficulty are you playing on? I play on Superstar with CPU AI difficulty at 6 and AI learning at 6 and that’s helped a bit with getting the AI to play tougher defense. But they can def do a better job of poke checking since it’s much easier for human players to poke the puck away, if anything it’s too easy still to poke check the CPU.

Yeah, I’m playing superstar to right now. Started one below but it was too easy this year
