Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
I find it interesting that I tweeted this...
@EASPORTSNHL Am I missing something, or are players actually not editable?!???
And the tweet is not even showing up! Anyone else have this issue with them?
On a side note, HB Studios (The Golf Club) is amazing. They respond to tweets quickly, and with respect and concern AND honesty! EA could learn something!!Comment

I want off ice feature parity for offline modes along with the gameplay upgrade. Only way this is anywhere near a purchase for me.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
I'm like many of you. This was a day one purchases for me but many of the things being discussed here are starting to make me question that.
These are basically game-killers for me if they're true, so can anyone confirm or comment on the following?
1. Can we at least edit players jersey numbers? Or at the very least are retired jerseys still in the game so rookies and traded players don't wear retired numbers?
2. Can we really not play AHL games? And if not, do we at least have AHL teams where we can place players not on the NHL squad? And if we can, do those players accumulate stats in the minors?
3. Can we really NOT draft our own players? Does the CPU do it automatically?
If all of these prove to be the case, then I am going to do the unthinkable... not buy NHL this year. It will be the first time ever for me as I've owned every copy since NHLPA 93 on the Sega Genesis.
2. You cannot play AHL games. You do have a minor league affiliate and can send players down. It does not look like they will accumulate stats in the minors from what I could tell in the brief time I hopped into the mode. (don't want to spend too much time of my 6 hours not playing the game). But when you send someone down they don't play games or anything, they just are in the minors and are waiting to come back up, hopefully progressing.
3. I cannot comment as I didn't sim anywhere. But seems to be the case from what others have said.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
How can your most anticipated game of the year turn into the biggest disappointment of the year? Only EA can accomplish that. Sad. A total let down with the lack of features, drafting, editing and modes. Somebody a while back called it Madden 06 all over again and they were right. I thought we were past that in a technological stand point? Haven't bought Madden in 2 years, looks like I'll go pick that up, and wait for this to go on sale.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
For anyone that has played multiple games, I haven't bought NHL in a long time and from what I have been reading and played in the demo, it is night and day from what I remember on the thumbs.
I can't sympathize with all the missing features as those don't really matter to me much; however I do understand they will be deal breakers for some people.
From what I remember in NHL is that it never mattered who I was playing I always just did the same strategy against every team in order to win games. Do you see any variance from game to game? If not it will make the games very tiring for me, as I lost my luster a long time ago due to the redundant methods that I would make it about 20 games into the season and never touch it again.
To me that is the biggest deal breaker of them all if its just rinse and repeat.Comment

So played a game online and maybe I'm just really use to super poke check but the guy scored 3 goals on me just skating straight into my defence. U poke check and stick lift but the guy gets possession of the puck right away. There's no good way to knock the puck off someone's stick except to check, but then your leaving yourself open to get out of position. I just want a game that rewards you to play hockey smartly and not who has the best swerving ability. It's going to be one long year without eashl.Comment

1. You can edit numbers and captaincy in the Be a GM mode. It does have retired numbers in red so that you cannot assign that number to someone now.
2. You cannot play AHL games. You do have a minor league affiliate and can send players down. It does not look like they will accumulate stats in the minors from what I could tell in the brief time I hopped into the mode. (don't want to spend too much time of my 6 hours not playing the game). Can jersey numbers be changed in play now mode?Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
No EASHL.
No Life-the-Live-Mode.
No Season or Playoff Mode.
No Online Shootout Mode.
No Tournament (National Tournament, etc) Mode.
No way to edit players, overall, potential, equipment, nothing. At all.
No Create-A-Team Option.
Can't replace a team in BeAGM-mode.
No Pre-season in BeAGM-mode. At all.
No GM-Tracker.
No BeAGM Fantasy Draft option.
No way to draft your own players in a mode where you are the GENERAL MANAGER of a NHL team. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CwT-NYSF5Y )
No way to use AHL in anyway at all in BeAGM.
No way to sim while you are on the bench in Be-A-Pro. Basically you HAVE to watch the CPU vs CPU gameplay from the bench and have no option to skip it in anyway.
No option to ''Play against a Friend'' in HUT.
I wrote that list in about 8 mins btw, so yeah I probably missed alot of stuff from on it......................
........................Just like EA seems to miss alot of stuff from NHL 15...
....In the year 2014. On the freakking PS4/Xbox One hardware!
This game feels like an PS2 game for me. And not in the good kind of nostalgic kinda of way.
Don't get me wrong, gameplay is good, it's solid and it feels fresh. Problem is, you can only play the game for so long but if there is nothing to do other then play meaningless games that really don't feel like they matter. You get bored and there is no replay factor and you don't feel like you want to play again.
Aside from people who love HUT and play it all year around, this game is gonna get boring very very fast. And the sad thing about all of this is, thinking about it as a from a business point of view, could EA be really that stupid that they wouldn't have certain CORE components of a game in it, just so more people would play HUT and buy those precious packs instead? Or could they just hope people don't care, buy the game anyways and then re-install the modes in NHL 16,17, etc and advertise them as a Brand-New-and-Exciting-gamemodes?
I don't know, I just can't see it being a situation where they din't have enough time to include a damn player edit option, or hell an ACTUAL Be-A-GM Draft, Fantasy Draft, etc, all those little things that are missing, did they really just not give so much of a crap about those that they just decided to drop them? Or they din't have time to fix those up?
I can understand the EASHL part not being included for some parts, it not being included due to the 12 player physics and the game not being able to handle 12 actual players on the ice (Even as that was advertised as one of the Big Things this year..) but the fact that they can't include an damn DRAFT option, or make you able to Sim yourself sitting on the bench till your next shift instead of being forced to watch AI vs AI play for good few minutes is just.. I don't even know.
Sadly, this is by far the biggest joke of a game release I have witnessed in quite some time. You can count on some heads being chopped off at EA Sports NHL team very very soon
And yes, I will still buy it, and will still play it for abit. I will buy it for 2 euros off Gamestop for changing a few PS3 games I have stored which I have no use for. Yeah, 2 euros for NHL 15, that's the price tag I will pay for it. And that's already being generous for this game.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
The impressions are making me more excited about this game. Everything negative said about this game has absolutely nothing to do with gameplay. Looks like they put out a quality game to start next-gen.
Only the most hardcore fans are upset thus far. The vast majority that play this game could careless about spending hours editing players or watching replays. Yes, no EASHL is unfortunately; but in due time, OTP will be in so it's not that major of an issue. There are still plenty of modes that offer tons of value for your dollar.
Otp using an NHL player is nothing like eashl.Comment

Re: NHL 15 Available Now For EA Access Subscribers, Post Your Impressions
Honestly, I could not possibly care less about the lack of EASHL (or even AHL) this year as I never play either anyway.
The new presentation, the spit and polish applied through not only the video intros (which I loved in the demo), but also the NBCSN package throughout sold me immediately. I'm downloading the full version now and very much looking forward to taking my Avs through their paces for six hours.
The game is gorgeous, but I am still wondering about the final resolution in the XONE version compared to the PS4... that will determine which version I pickup.Comment
