Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
Sorry if you go into the PS4 and then Settings and then display settings and then you'll see the color mode/settings or whatever you call it and then change them to FULL if you haven't done so already. Mine were on Automatic..
Game Changer for me for this gameComment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
WOW what a fantastic call csamuelsvt! This should be a sticky. That definitely helps a lot. The graphic clarity, although still sub-par to most other games on the system, is much improved with this setting change. I think this may also explain why some people reported issues while others did not.
So the question now becomes - is this a bug with the game? It would seem so, because I am able to use Automatic will ALL other games and do not have this issue with any of them, except with NHL 15.Comment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
This. The TV you play on can have just as much of an impact on the visuals which is why for some people the game looks amazing and for others it doesn't. I played the game on PS4 on a 65 inch LG UHD and it looked absolutely stunning in every possible way. In fact I told myself I wouldn't buy it till a full featured GM mode is in, but after playing it on my buddies TV I am seriously considering it.Comment

You mean the Video Output settings?
There' s several options there:
- Resolution (from 480p to 1080p)
- RGB
- Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr
- Deep Colour
How do you set them exactly?
I thought the settings would depend on each individual TV typeComment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
Change the bold to FULL if they are on automatic for your settings. This is what I did and it completely changed the look of the game for me. HUGE difference!
As for deep color, change this to "Automatic" or "On" (I forget what it says, not in front of my ps4 now)
Only had to do this for this game as everything else on "Automatic" looked fantastic for any other game I played.
This worked for me and my TV and for THIS game. As I stated, the game was blurry/Hazy etc before this...now it pops like the Xbox One version and I don't see any blurriness whatsoever.Comment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
It looks like there are 2 settings on PS4. Change both to FULL? They are :
RGB Range
Y PB / cb pr/ cr Range
Deep Color Output does what? It's set to off default
When I change the RGB one , the system will sort of 'reset' itself on the display for a second then come back. I noticed the colors were very vibrant compared to Automatic setting.
Like the other poster said, this is the only game I'd have to do this for. All the other games look great on automatic.
added - i didnt see the post before me saying to change both to full. can someone compare other games if they look better or if the setting messes them up?Last edited by hyacinth1; 09-11-2014, 10:26 AM.Comment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
I haven't noticed any differences in the demo and retail graphics on PS4.
Only Madden NFL 25 and NBA Live 14 are less impressive, graphically, of all the sports games that I've played on the system.Comment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
I have an older TV and don't see the RGB settings.
But i turned it to FULL and it looks more like XB1 now, where the colors are super vibrant but the black backgrounds are really dark.
If my TV can't do RGB, should I leave it at FULL and it' won't hurt my tv? I will see with other games how it looks since NHL is the only washed out game I have on PS4.Comment

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
It won't hurt your TV, how should it? It's just a matter of how colors are displayed. Like you mentioned, could be that they are more vibrant, but that there is no differentiation in the blacks anymore if your TV doesn't support RGB Full. They might be more vibrant, but also more unrealistic, because it's not displayed as intended.I have an older TV and don't see the RGB settings.

There is tons of stuff in the Internet about this, so look there if you have any more questions

Re: Are the graphics better than in the demo or not (PS4)??
This thread, or at least a synopsis of the information in it, should be a sticky.
The whole reason I created this thread was to see if we could put our minds together and figure out why the game looked fuzzy and washed out. Some agreed it was bad, and others said no problem. Now we know why - only some are affected by this based on their display and setup.
For me, it makes a huge difference. I was going to skip this game completely because of how the graphics looked. Now I will look to pick it up.
It would be great if EA patched this, as it seems to affect ONLY NHL 15 - like another poster said - this is the only game I have to make this change for it to look right.Comment
