How to fake a normal season

Hello together

as I am playing since 1997 each year a single season offline with the habs
I am very disappointed that this mode is not included.
My question is how could I fake a season mode with full control of the cpu transfers in the GM mode?
Did anybody try it?
How do you handle the free agents topic as I am only doing the transfers
like in the real NHL?

You can't do it in this game. There is no way to even come close to accomplishing this feat with NHL15 for next gen.

I have been trying to play a "season mode" using Be a GM. I'm ignoring all trace offers and just advancing through the game. I'm only about 5 games in tho, so I have no idea what issues I'll run into. Why won't this approach work?

Read around these forums. There are literally dozens of people that have discussed this at length by now.

If you do a GM you cannot control what moves the CPU teams make, making it completely different than doing a season.

If you do not turn trading completely off you will have no control over what players are traded between CPU teams or when. They often make very questionable trades.

The CPU teams will sign free agents and make crazy roster moves.

Players disappear and just vanish from the game completely in the mode at times.

If you try and create a player there is a duplicate player glitch.

There is a backup goalie bug where the CPU teams have started their backup for no reason and way more often than their starter. If you do not manually choose your roster your backup will play more often than not, especially if you sim your games.

There is no minor league system in which you can send players down and have them play actual games for their minor league affiliates.

You cannot edit players gear or attributes at all.

And these are just some of the things people have reported that is wrong with GM mode and how it differs from a season type mode. Read around, use this forums search function. It was a highly discussed topic when it was finally discovered that season mode was omitted from NHL 15 next gen.

The BAGM mode is early 2000s level in terms of depth.

I think I had more stuff to do in NBA Live 2004, and Im not kidding.

The most realistic you can go, Is to make every team with 50 signed players before you start the mode, so teams can`t sign free agents.
then turn off the trades and waivers.
I did a crazy thing and created prospects so all the team now have exacts 50 contracts.
you cant control the rosters during the season, but at least no changes until the end of the year.

can you exchange teams in be a gm ? I don't know why they put European leagues in and U can use them only in play now.

Nope. You can't use anything but NHL teams in it. One NHL team that you choose when you start.

Question to that approach: If you do so, I wonder if teams which suffers injuries would not then call up one of those 50 players and you still would have a mix up in the lines? or do you just disable injuries slide? Also I wonder if you indeed have to address 50 players each or if it would be already sufficient to just draft the top players because you could imagine that players with a low rating would never make a team even if teams would go after them?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

Turn injuries off or the lines get screwed up. The 50 player idea is a good one because if you don't do that the CPU teams sign free agents like crazy. The worst part is you cannot force trades so you cannot keep the rosters up to date. I thought keeping the trades set at easy so could manipulate this by trading the player to my team and then moving the player to the real team but this just didn't work, even on easy the CPU turns down the trade most of the time. You can do a season but it will be more of a fantasy season. In addition to the problems listed in an earlier post another bug is after you start the season the extra attacker lines for all teams get jacked up. You end up with 4 th liners or Defensman as the extra attackers. Bizarre

vauclair , Sorry, I didnt check the details so deeply. I just doing one year,
sometimes 3 years to see players development.
I think whatever you do, the line will mess-up. I like to play with injuries on, but injuries off might saves the lines, I will check it later.
I just do it, because first time I played GM, I had a game against CLB, they had a line with Bertuzzi, Handzus & Alfredsson.

Hey Vauclair if I would follow your strategy is it netter to create the Players and sign them to the AHL Clubs or does it only work if you sign them to the NHL clubs? I am asking because my fake players should never play
