Re: Be a GM Mode and Offline Mode Brainstorm

and PLEASE, we should be able to edit draft classes for each draft. I want to be able to create real players like Jack Eichel, future stars like Xavier Parent and Logan Barlage or even me and my friends! Give us the ability to do that!

All I really want before all of these things is the dev team to listen. Not just come here when press is bad, take softball questions from new accounts, but actually converse with someone with more than 8 posts. Even that seems a little too much to ask. Hell, even the creators of Rugby games have taken time to interact. NBA 2k has, MLB does all the time, Madden has had a history of it, NHL? Nope, only when they release the worst critically scored game in their history. Then it's only for a few posts.

All of this stuff would be nice, and we all can dream. remember the 2k5? scouting? I thought it was daunting and almost never did it, but it was nice to do that. I just have no hope for this team/series. This board and the EA board are as dead as I have seen it since I started playing this series hardcore in 09.

Re: Be a GM Mode and Offline Mode Brainstorm

In terms of trading, more dialogue between the two teams would be great. When I'm trying to trade and all i get is "No way. Have you even looked at our trade list?" so i start piling things on and then it suddenly accepts with a "I'll take this trade any day. I hope you know what you're doing".

I would like something like i offer Berglund, Rattie, and a 1st to Toronto for Kessel, and their GM says "I think that's too low. How about Berglund, Oshie, and two 1st round picks". Or even if the GM AI would point out things it's okay with. "I like Berglund and Rattie. But i want two picks instead". Just something to make it feel like I'm negotiating, and not trying guess some magical combination to get me what i want.

Similarly, it would be nice if AI teams actually offered you things depending on your team build and season performance. If I'm in 3rd place, have solid defense, great goaltending, but a terrible PP, it would be nice to have GM's call and offer their guy who's an RFA and just happens to be top 10 in PP scoring. Of course they would request some decent picks/prospect, but it would be so much more engaging than the currently stale GM mode.

Another plus would be the ability to negotiate with players and see what their plans are. If my forward who is lighting it up wants to leave at the end of the year and test Free Agency, i want to know. And if i can't negotiate with him during the season, or he says "I'm going somewhere else next season" I want to trade him right then for some new players or picks. Sure there will be the occasional surprise, but i want to have some idea how my players feel. This could even factor in ice time, and usage. If i have a guy like Malkin, and I'm playing him on the 3rd line every night and not using him on the PP, it would be nice to hear him tell me he's frustrated, and want to play more. Then, if i didn't do that, he might request a trade, or walk for free agency. They have something like this in FIFA and i personally think it adds a nice layer of depth to the game. Sure, i could try and stack my team with all high ranked forwards, but they can't all play at once, and those guys not playing get mad. I know I've told the story before, but i was playing FIFA when i first got into it, and I had Alexander Pato on my team. He was great, and was dominating for me. So, I wanted an extra punch. I went out and acquired Didier Drogba. Drogba arrives with my team, and the next day i get an angry e-mail from Pato saying he doesn't like what this acquisition will mean to his playing time, and demands a trade (It would have been nice to have an option to negotiate with him, but it was still cool all the same).

So, next trade window, i sent him packing, and every time we played his team, we crushed them. I played that much harder, just out of spite. I even laid a few extra tackles on him, just because. The whole point being, one player got me personally invested in 4 games per year. And there was all sorts of other things. Guys saying they wanted more playing time, who then got a shot, scored some big goals, said they were happy, and saw their role change to a permanent one. Guys who said they wanted to move closer to home, and would be leaving the team at the end of the year. Guys who said they were hanging them up at the end of the year, and would retire. All of it got me personally involved with my team, and I saw them more like actual players instead of ratings that look vaguely human.

And, if all else fails, the ability to force trades and edit rosters/players mid season would be awesome. I'm usually pretty close to the regular season when i play, so around trade deadline, i sometimes like to move guys like in real life. Unfortunately, in the game, that means i have to start all over from scratch. It also means mid-season i can't make any changes to players to reflect their current playing. I would love the ability to micro-manage as much about my team, and others as possible.

I don't expect EA to nail every small detail, but i do expect them to let me try. If they can't make tons of realistic looking player models, fine. Just give us the tools and let us share them. Can't get rosters 100% due to rules and restrictions? Fine, but we have a community that can. Just let us create and share them and we can take care of it.

I don't mind EA's focus on HUT, i just hate that it comes at the expense of offline game modes, and doesn't give us the ability to fix any shortcomings on our own. Things as small as better player/roster editing and sharing, along with more functional sliders would do a world of difference in how i view the game.

          All Great suggestions.

          I have a few more..

          1. In season re-signings.. I should have that option not have to wait until the end of the year...
          2. More random day to day injuries.
          3. Season Ending Injuries
          4. Suspensions for Illegal Hits
          5. AX the fighting after every big hit..
          6. Trade Dialog - non existent
          7. Realistic trade offers from the CPU
          8. Ability to CREATE a player at ANY time and add him to your Roster
          9. Better Goalie Animations
          10. LESS soft Goals
          11. NON Magnetic Puck (CPU)
          12. Daily League Highlight show.

Not much but thats a start... lol

I find these threads to be depressing. More than half of these ideas are taken from other games that already have them in their game. It really shows how bare-bones BaGM is. Comparing BaGM to MLB The Show's franchise mode is like night and day.

Have to agree...again, this is all we can really do as far as getting our opinionsout there. That in itself is depressing.

Re: Be a GM Mode and Offline Mode Brainstorm

I will keep my wish list simple and just hope for:

                1. Full Multi-team control, not just play any game on the schedule. For example, the draft should include all user controlled teams able to make their own picks. User controlled teams should be able to make their own trades. Basically I want what was in 2k8's franchise mode.

                2. Variable season length. Also seen in 2k8's franchise mode.

                3. The ability to do all this offline, also as seen in 2k8.

If NHL 16 would do this, I would not only buy it but buy a next gen console to play it on.

                  Retirement notifications.

Stat tracking, overlays. I don't want to have to go into the box score to find out it was his XXth goal of the season.

Trade inquiries. "I'm interested in XXX what will it take?"

                  AHL Stats.

                  Player progression that isn't broken.

Not having to pick whether to scout F,D, or G.

                  Variable crowd attendance

I'd like to throw in custom draft classes like NBA 2k has.
