We all may be getting upset for nothing. It very well may be in the game. The op asked if it was in and one poster wrote no and then posted later he received confirmation. From where? Did EA post this? Did one of the game changer event guys say this? I have not seen anywhere other than that guys post saying so with nothing to back it up. Please don't think I'm calling him out because I'm not he could be right but we would all like to know where that info came from. All the game changer guys posted that they spent much of their time with EASHL and had little time with the offline modes. They also played with the volumes way down or off so they wouldn't hear what's being announced. Unless I see this confirmed by EA or a game changer I'm not convinced....although it wouldn't suprise me sadly if it's not in.

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
If people aren't happy, they need to talk with their wallets.
Buying the game and then complaining about it all year won't do anything.
Madden is a great example of that.
I hate not having season stat tracking. It really hampers the immersion.
But I can live without it, IF the gameplay is solid.
I'll be renting the game and then testing the waters.
Right now, I'm leaning towards PES. Some years, it's good to cleanse the pallet and come back a year later.
It also sends a message to the suits that mediocrity won't be tolerated.
*Maybe some will disagree, but I do give EA a bit of a pass due to the small team given to the NHL group.
I think they had a much larger group when they designed NHL07. They wanted to blow 2K out of the water. Once that was accomplished, they tailored back and moved guys around; Littman Richards (two guys instrumental in NHL07).
It just goes back to my belief that sports games shouldn't be an annual release.
Between working on a new game, along with constant tuner adjustments, how much time is really left to add new stuff?
The proper model would be to take 2-3 years to build a new engine for the upcoming new generation of consoles.
Make sure the engine is perfect. Then over the next 5-10 years, release a new game every 2 or 3 years with multiple tuners, roster updates, etc inbetween.
I'd love to see how good NHL17 could be if they were given 24 months to work on it.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
Why do you give a company that makes a decision to improperly staff a development team to make a quality product at the price point it is marketed at a pass? Do people do this in all aspects of commerce? No. Only the strong and best survive. If this game isn't in that class then no passes should be awarded simply because they don't feel the need to ensure a quality product.
EA reportedly pulled people from NHL to work on NBA Live and UFC. If that's where their priority rests then it should speak volumes to the consumer base about where their wishes and demands for this title are. And judging by the "success" of NHL 15, NBA Live 15, and UFC all they did was handicap three titles by not putting the proper resources into their production. That's simply a business decision on their part. Our parts in this should be to not support substandard work and products. We don't do in any other industry as much as do with video games. Speak with your hard earned dollars and perhaps the message gets received. Because if you continually support an unfinished product you aren't helping anything. You're just sending the message that it is acceptable and really aren't getting a product that is worth anything in return.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
The problem is that it's easier to make a statement when there is competition to give my money to. EA of course has killed any comp in hockey and football, and look what it's done to the quality of work.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
I love the game of hockey to much to pass up on it. yes that's a problem and I realize that the only way to change what's happening is to stop buying their product, but when they have the only hockey video game on the market it's much harder for me and I'm sure others to pass

I'm going to rent it, but if it feels like nothing more than a Play Now game with Be a GM menus, I'm done with EA Hockey indefinitely.Comment

It's mainly to say I'm no longer putting the shortcomings of this series directly on the programmers shoulders.
I really enjoyed NHL07. Yes, it had some issues as well, but there was a lot of good in the gampeplay, namely, distinct player types and a CPU that didn’t get boosts when moving up in difficulty. Only smarter AI.
You could tell the team was larger then and had a great vision of how a game should play.
The fact they took out speedburst tells us that those working on this game knew what they were doing and loved the game of hockey.
But once 2K was no longer a threat, they began stripping team members away to work on Live and UFC.
I just feel that if given the same resources as NHL07 I think this game is a lot better.
Of course, this doesn’t mean we should all hold hands and purchase the game without voicing concerns or constructive criticism.
I guess I’m just tired of complaining at this point. The series is what it is.
It’s either going to turn the corner or it won’t.
I’ll rent the game and if it stinks, I won’t buy. I’ll use that money towards Fantasy Hockey Manager and PES.
For those needing a hockey fix, I feel bad for you. There’s nowhere else you can get a console hockey game. So keep up the good fight.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
It's such an easy thing to add. Seriously , it's a very simple code change. A bit puzzling to say the least but not surprising considering the lack of ambition by the dev team regarding the offline modes.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
I made the post about the season goals being the same as last year it was a dev team member who said it wasn't high on the priority list I brought it to their attention while watching a video of the Rangers playing Pittsburgh when there was a goal scored it was the same banner as last year hence I made the comment / question thru the ea. forums and was told it hasn't changed for 16
And thank you for my input.....Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
Mysef OBG, i'm going in expecting this very thing. I'm think we'll still see very little difference between the players or teams. That, and the same zero NZ play make the game quite boring to play vs the ai. But my son and i enjoy playing vs each other too much on-line for me to pass on 16. But yeah, GM mode is big to me as well. I'm hoping to at least get some enjoyment out of it.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
You guys are great, I completely agree.
Zero board play, NZ play, no last Line Change, no season goals shown and so on...
It's such a shame, it's 2015 and I really wish any company will do an NHL17/18/19 game. EA needs competition, otherwise? Oh well see what's going on with NBA and NFL...
I loooove how PES2016 is growing, it's such an good football/soccer game, way more authentic gameplay wise then FIFA. (Konami will get my money!)
To all the young guys, just watch / search the Internet for NHL2004 and NHL2K 8 and 10 and see what modes and gameplay these great games have.
See the difference? Night and Day I will say.
So if anyone thinks/feels like Vikes1 then buy the game USED (for the statistic, it's officially only 1 not 2 sold games)
I think I'll try out the EA Access full game try (I'm mostly an OFFLINE or couch co op offline gamer) and see how "good" the "new" game is...
Maybe a a second hand buy for me, maybe...Last edited by CupCrazyManiac; 08-15-2015, 01:31 AM.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
Do any of the game changers bring these things up when they meet with ea? I'd love to hear the reasoning this stuff is left out.its called be a gm yet u can't do half the things a real gm does its like be a pro mode but ur guy doesn't have a stick so he just skates around looking dumbComment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?

Just curious on what ever happened to David Littman who was producer of the NHL series for awhile and an actual hockey player himself. Since this Rammer guy took over the NHL series has been in a serious nosedive.Comment

Re: Season goals shown in nhl 16?
Just so you guys know, goals total CAN be seen while in the game. But you have to pause it, and go to the boxscore screen. It was like that in 15 on XB1.
But yeah I have a hard time seeing they let this one go. **** has any of these devs ever played Be a GM? It's sooo annoying they don't show goals and assist count.Comment
