Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
Just a few things I want to touch on.
1. The hug the post animation for goalies takes just that extra second too long.
2. I wonder if the T push could be implemented in a vertical fashion. By that I mean, is it possible to reallocate the butterfly pokecheck? The control scheme I suggest here is that to do a butterfly pokecheck, the goalie would have to be holding the trigger for butterfly, and then hit RS to do the poke. Just hitting RS up without already being in butterfly would be a vertical T-push, ideal for setting up to challenge a breakaway (and could the backskating for goalies then be slowed down?).
3. I think this beta would have been better with drop-in games. Needing a club means that a high percentage of people don't play a full 6v6 game, which showcases AI that isn't meant to be on EASHL ice at all, which in turn disillusions people. But that's just my opinion.
I'm glad that EA released a beta, though.Comment

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
If you are going to run club this year you had better be playing with nearly all humans, because the AI in this game is atrocious, again.
so what you say is true about the AI being atrocious.. this is a great thing for the EASHL.. not a bad thing.
this is how it should be and what we wantedComment

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
Why would anyone run a club that wasn't with all humans? The AI in the EASHL should be atrocious forcing clubs to always play with 5 or 6. This is the only way to ever play in the EASHL since 09. all 2 and 3 man teams or clubs should be banned imo.. it should never be allowed

I am glad they added a 6v6 leaderboard when they did though. It gives both groups what they are looking forNHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
I really don't like this line of thinking. Some of us just enjoy playing with friends and enjoy our games with 3 or 4 and don't want to search out new people we don't know just to be able to play our favorite game mode.

well that's fine... but you should be punished for playing like that with atrocious AI players then.. and it sounds like that is exactly what EA did which I would say is probably by far the best thing I have heard yet about the EASHL beta. When I normally play club.. I never play with less than 4 players but most always with 5 or 6 and will never play a club with less than 4
if you want to play with just 2 - 3 players in the EASHL.. that's what drop in games should be used for. Never to play club matches. That's pointless and boring. I can't believe people actually would ever enjoy doing that over and overLast edited by steveeee; 08-01-2015, 10:52 PM.Comment

I don't think the ai is as bad this year as people are saying. It's only horrible when you leave all the strategies on the super conservative settings they start you with.
I do agree that the ai should never be better than the users so it makes sense why the ai in eashl isn't as good as it could be.
Trust me it's much more enjoyable to play games with 3 people you know and trust to play the game the right way with 2 ai than to go drop in and watch your d play like they are forwards and your goalie to move out of the way of the puck after they give up 2 regular goals.NHL: Vegas Golden Knights

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
it seems like some of you are evaluating the EASHL beta as your NHL 16 offline gameplay game
the poster above me just said he would rather play 2K8.. if that's the case that sounds like someone to me who would probably never even be playing in the EASHL to begin with so I'm not sure why they are trying out this beta and judging the game by that. That's very odd to me. playing in the EASHL vs playing offline NHL is completely different. I could be wrong but seems some are are not even EASHL players but are playing this online and judging the game for the offline play which is odd to me. They are never even remotely close to the same thing.
I am a online only player in NHL.. I will never play the game offline so the beta is something for me and others like me to test. but if you are mainly an offline gamer in NHL i would would never be testing the EASHL beta as to me they are different games entirely in the first place. I have never thought NHL offline is anything similar to playing in the EASHL and onlineLast edited by steveeee; 08-02-2015, 12:36 AM.Comment

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
Posting from my phone, but after 3 solid nights of playing with my usual EASHL buds.
Player builds, seem ok. Still need tweaked. I've used all the builds, and besides the sniper the enforcers feel the best skating wise. That wouldn't be the case.
I like the puck being a bit more loose. If it's like this by default on hardcore then we should be able to get our offline games a bit more sloppy than years past.
It's great that the passes can't get through legs and sticks. Active sticks are solid.
For the clubs with 2,3,4 guys playing. I honestly think the AI is good. Don't have to call for the puck. Skate to space and they move it 90% of the time.
I also agree that there should be leader boards in EASHL for 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's. EA should promote the 5 and 6's as main modes in EASHL, but also send love to the others as well. Not everyone wants to find a community and get to know new people. I mean my club has a total of 13 guys and most nights only 4 or 5 of us are on at once. Good enough for us to play and have a good time.
Same snipe shots goes in. Same breakaway moves leave the goalies helpless. With that said, not as easy to get breakaways. So those chances are tough to get mad at breakaway move wise.
Honestly, the game is still frustrating from same old stuff, but in a different way.
Hopefully they tweak the builds to play more like a real life player type. Even tone down the speed burst across the board even more.
For as much as I hammer the dev's, I missed this mode and being able to moan and groan with my buddies while playing a team game.Twitch

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
The game emphasis is still toward offense. In offense, You have lots of moves. All that defense has now is 1 poke check at the right time and be in the passing lane. They took away our ability to check. I don't mind that they have tone it down compare to NHL15 but without that physical aspect of the game, role like power forward are really not reaching their potential.
I don't want to go back to NHL15 style but I think it needs more physicality.Comment

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
Played more Last night. Still really enjoying it. I play with a group of 3 other people, so four total if we all can come in. I did notice if you make your AI a little more aggressive they play better.
I never thought "wow, this is boring".

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
I think the beta is very good. Have played with mostly 4's and the odd 5's. Excellent games. Skating will take some getting used too for sure. I'm playing d and I have blown some guys up in front of the net and other times I bounce off them. Also have taken too many penalties . Some calls against have just flat out not occurred lol but to the box I go!
Yes, the game has some tweaking to do but I'm loving it so far!Comment

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta
Maybe it's me but I can't tell anything about the game from the Beta. I understand why they chose this option and what they are looking for but I for one would have preferred a demo so I can get a look at the offline game AI. There is no way to accurately judge the CPU AI even in a 2 on 2 game because I have only played with guys that are all over the ice no matter what position. In a game with 3 or 4 guys everyone is bunching up and chasing the puck. I did notice in one game the CPU goalie let in some of those same old same old garbage goals. I enjoy EASHL but I'm mainly an offline gamer so I will reserve judgement until I can get my hands on the game itself.
On a side note I am a roster junkie control freak and for those like me who edit the goalies equiptment and masks I didn't like the color wheel thing I think the pallet was a better and the option to select from the teams pre set colors was not there and that really made things easy in the past. I'm also dissapointed, albeit a minor thing, that most of the same crappy masks are still there. Cam Wards real mask is there and the Kings have a new really nice backup mask, which shows they can make better generic ones if they want. I suspect that was not a complete list of generic faces but we will see.Last edited by jake19ny; 08-02-2015, 10:53 AM.Comment
