Or maybe it's just my 3mbps internet.

I would have to say that this was my biggest issue with the beta. I am D-man by trade and it was quite a chore to mark the player in front of the net or to hold the blue line. Skating overall seemed really laggy and hard to control.

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta

Played a couple more games with OS East 2 last night.....good fun....we stole a win in OT. I was a playmaker C and I like that set-up....overall I was decent on face-offs but went through a stretch i just could not win any. The playmaker certainly can make better passes than the other builds which I like.

Tried be a goalie in game 2....made some good saves but we played a strong team and the chances kept piling up....I think I let in 7 in the end....yikes.

I likeg goalie though...using L2 to keep more minor movements is tricky but I can see with practice the goalie position could be a great team advantage if you have a guy that can play it well.

Looking forward to the games release.

after playing about 4 games last night after all the updates and fixes EA did listening to complaints from the community.. I'm starting to think this will again be the best online sports game... I'm already starting to feel that addicted feeling and to me there is nothing better in any online sports game than 6 v 6 hockey.. both FIFA and NBA2K do not come close to this enjoyment imo

It's not your connection. Many are having the the same issue with more than adequate connections. The game is excellent when it plays properly.

Re: Your Thoughts on the EASHL Beta

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, but I cant make a new one.

I haven't yet gotten around to download and try the beta. When I found out they are extending it until the 10th I thought I'd try it. Is it still possible to download it, because when I start my NHL 15 the only "news" I get under the start panel are the two "player of the week" & "team of the week".

Am I too late, or is there a way to get it downloaded? (I'm not currently paying for PS+ if that has anything to do with it). I thought I'd get the PS+ subscription if I could get the EASHL beta.

            Thanks

I saw the beta as a learning curve, and much needed... At first I started playing with 5 or 6 on 6 but found it hard to get a feel of the nuances of the game. I was being scored D or D minus In defense and it constantly saying I was out of position as a dman, yet I never joined a rush, and played the blue line to try to avoid odd man chances. I can't say I liked the full squad game as much, it just felt sluggish...

A friend of mine and I then decided to run two man, to get games in on our schedules and as many as possible and I can say this is when I started enjoying the beta. We were able to score, we were able learn the ridiculous AI and use it to our advantage, and got 54 games in going 37-13-4. It brought us back to the old days on the PS3 and though we haven't played eashl games together since NHL12, we hit on all cylinders most games...

Passing makes this game frustrating at times, there seems to be a delay, and a random delay to where just when you think you have it figured out, a different game has a different delay making you adjust almost game to game. I love the fact that it's not tape to tape like it used to be, but the delay and accuracy (or lack thereof) is ridiculous at times. Granted, I don't want it to be more accurate than what we saw, the controls make you make the right passes, but I wish they can figure out the delay that so many of us had.

Scoring, having been a dman in most versions of the eashl, I move to LW in two man, and for the first time since its inception on the PS3, I was able to score more frequently, which was cool, because all those years, I sat back and watched the scoring while playing dman, racking up assists, but little oppurtunity to score. Most times I felt you really had to work for goals and the normal "glitch" shots were less frequent. Some opponents that's all they tried and may have got 1 to go in a game in 10+ shots, so I was happy to see that with good de (54 games 1.36 GAA) you could stop the glitch goalers more frequently.

All in all, being as how I don't take the game seriously, just want to have some fun, I don't see myself playing on a huge team for the fact that it just isn't as fun chasing others around so much that it's more of a chore than a game. I had a lot of fun with the 2-man game and we will be adding 3 others for full release that our times will overlap giving us the oppurtunity to go 2-5 man on some nightly occasions. I think having the mode back is a great improvement for the franchise and seeing as though we progressed so quickly in 2-man, will be fun getting some games in with some old friends of the PS3 era with a new addition in one of the top 2 divisions... Should be a fun year, but I am sure equally as frustrating if passing isn't tweaked a tad...

If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.

sorry G, but 2 man teams dont rate for anything.
not intended to be a shot at you guys or anyone else that chooses to to play 2 man so if i offended, i apologize in advance.

                    Lions,

Yeah I didnt have a full 6's team most of the time we were playing, but mostly played with a min of 4 guys. Always with a user goalie, which I think helped us in terms of winning more games. But thanks for your input!

Not offended, just a personal choice to play with fewer. With more on the team, there is so much covering for others that are consistently out of position, just doesn't make the game fun... I tried it with you guys, just spent a lot of time in the DR waiting for a game when we could have gotten 1 in while waiting for others.

Then typically with full squads you have people that fight for certain positions, with two or three man, we can play where we want... I never use a human goalie on my team, just a personal preference to not have. While the game isn't so much about winning or losing, it does feel better going 54 games and having a plus 48 when in the 6 I played with full squads I was a minus 12. That right there tells me that while it was a beta, it wasn't do much about figuring out the game and positioning, it was about rushing the play, dman joint the rush leaving 3 on 1 rushes the other way on many occasions, I just didn't get enjoyment out of that.

We will run 2 man a lot this year, and will probably make division 1 quickly. We have a night crew, and a Canadian central time crew that will overlap for maybe a game or two but then back to 2's...

Again, not offended, just a personal choice. With the type of game Cane and Zi play, we are better suited for two man for success, as are several others we ran across... And we hooked up against three 5 man teams and won all three, so two man can't be all that bad. I mean it is for conversationalists, I am rather quiet while playing, and turn off my mic and most of the chat and listen to doc emmerick... Large clubs are geared for the more social players. I am not social, I'd rather sign on, get into the DR , set a position and get in a game. Typically we can get five games in in the amount a full squad gets two due to waiting for guys, guys taking smoke breaks, etc. that's just not me or Cane, we are already ready to get back into a game as soon as the game ends... This is the advantage of two man...

We'll see you guys this year probably. Will be a good game, look forward to it...
