I will never be an online player. I wish EA would just make an EASHL game separate of the NHL licensed product and leave the NHL game to a company that actually wants to focus on that league.

Re: offline gameplay??
I'm very concerned. Offline users are still in the dark as to whether or not this game will be worth a purchase, and at this point it leads me to believe that we may be in for a world of hurt with the AI and other things. It's not a good sign at all.LGRW!!!Comment

Re: offline gameplay??
Most of us have been asking for these types of features since NHL was still in single digits. There's a reason some people don't immediately jump for joy when EA releases a video of Be a GM features they've added, that's just all of the stuff they messed up last year, with player morale added in.Comment

Re: offline gameplay??
This is what i fear...and won't be suprised by. For me, it really wasn't the huge lack of modes etc that ended my time with 15 so early. But instead, the imo...boring and perdictable gameplay vs the ai. Ie...every game, team and player felt the same. That to me pretty much puts any franchise mode on death row. Its just a matter of time till it dies.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Re: offline gameplay??
Well I am definitely waiting for reviews and YouTube analysis from users before I buy this game. I too am a mainly offline player and if that isn't up to snuff then I'll be sticking with... sigh... soccer. Can you believe that? Madden and NHL have been so disappointing the last several years I have to resort to a soccer game to get some decent sports gameplay. Not perfect gameplay mind you but at least something with noticeable progress. Sad times are upon us.Comment

Increased difficulty in The Show just means I actually have to pay attention to who's hitting, where my pitches are, and who I put in the field. When I lost games it was usually because of a bad choice, not the AI scoring on what seems to be a bogus play, or stupid mess up from the AI. If i left my starter in for too long, and hung a curveball that got knocked out of the park, that was my being punished for poor choices.
In NHL, it was too often that no matter what I did, I would lose a game when I tried to hit the puck carrier only to have him bounce off without losing a bit of control, while I fell down. He then skated past the AI player that stood in place, passed to another wide open player, and roofed a puck over my goalie who dove and rolled around on the ice instead of sliding post-to-post and taking up the net to block the shot.
I rarely felt in NHL that i was scored on because I made a mistake, I just felt like I didn't get lucky enough to get that magical combination of button presses that got the puck away. My accuracy in hitting and poke checking wasn't a factor, I was merely hitting buttons and hoping for positive results. It's a roll of the dice to get the desired outcome, and personally, I think that's not fun. I want to be rewarded for good plays, and punished for being an idiot. If I bring in my right d-man in a pinch, and the puck gets blocked and taken up ice, and I lose the two-on-one because when I controlled the defender, i stepped up on the shooter and whiffed, that's fine. That's what I get for a series of bad ideas. But, if I've got one guy on the PK literally bouncing through 3 defenders and scoring on a goalie that gets run into by the AI that tried skating through the net and goalie...that's not fine. That's just frustrating.Comment

Re: offline gameplay??
I just want to abe able to play SEASON MODE, OFFLINE, where I can do the real trades across the leagues as they happen (for every team)
I want to be able to edit the players myself, for when EA cant work out a left or righty or when they are scoring Crosby 96 on EVERY aspect
This simple mode appeared in just about EVERY SPORTS GAME since the 95?
After playing the MLB The Show this summer, the games options are an example as to what a game should be like..
I will be waiting until these are confirmed before i buy.....Comment

Re: offline gameplay??
There's a ton of offline game play being put out right now on youtube and Twitch, you just have to look for it.
The gameplay looks mostly the same is the problem, you have to feel it. There's a lot of subtle changes in the controlling of the players.
The biggest visual change you'll see if the puck not jumping through skates and sticks without interference or being intercepted. It's a really nice change.Comment
