In my opinion the rating shoulld be more spread out

Elite:95-99

1st liner forward:87-94

2nd line forward:82-86

3rd line forward:77-81

4th line forward:70-76

Top 2 ahl line forward: 60-69

Bottom 2 line ahl forward: 50-59

Chl Draft stud(top 3 pick) 68-78

Chl top 6 forward:40-59

Chl bottom 6:30-39

Elite d:95-99
Top 2 d:85-94
Top 4 d: 78-84
Top 6 d 72-77

Ahl top 2: 68-71
Ahl top 4:62-67
Ahl top 6:55-61

Draft stud:68-75

Agreed. In a fairly resent article, NHL was said to be the worst offender of inflated ratings, of the major sports games. And with that...too mashed together.

The Revamped Rosters generally went on this scale:

Superstars - 88+
1st liners - 82-87
2nd liners - 75-81
3rd liners - 69-74
4th liners - 63-68
NHL/AHL fringe - 58-62

And of course, players are rated based on what they would be on an average team. Like although Malkin plays on the second line for Pittsburgh a lot, obviously he is rated much much higher than a second liner.

Anyone know if there will be any sort of roster share feature in 16? I know you couldn't in 15 but I wanna say you could in 14...

It's very doubtful that '16 has a roster share feature; it would have been touted as a major addition.

In 14 you could share rosters by exporting them rosters online, then people could re-import onto their game. NHL 14 itself did not provide any option to share rosters directly, like NBA 2k and MLB the Show does.

Totally agree, though I have never felt enough difference in how the players play on the ice, relative to the ratings, anyway. I suppose there would be little point in spreading out the ratings if the ratings don't reflect how the player plays.

NHL 14 itself did not provide any option to share rosters directly, like NBA 2k and MLB the Show does.

I felt like the Revamped Roster got it so, so, so right. I remember NHL 14 basically changing overnight once those rosters were put into place. Shame 16 on PS4/XBone can't benefit from them.

If a guy scores 1 goal a year he should not have 80+ puck control/deking/shot accuracy like EA does.
Honestly should be 20 compared to other NHL players but it's like they're scared to piss off players.
I'm hopeful with the way NBA2K is doing ratings it will trickle into NHL and it won't be taboo to have a professional athlete rated 20 ovr in a videogame.
