I purchased the game on Black Friday and am enjoying it so far. This is my first hockey game, so the learning curve was big and this is very unforgiving on new hockey gamers so it took some time for me to get the controls down.

The few negatives that bother me are:
-The lack of roster updates. It should be weekly at worst if EA doesn't have the manpower to do rosters that reflect daily changes.
-Was disappointed I couldn't change jersey numbers. Brought up Brady Skjei from Hartford and his number was 6. Tanner Glass' number also changed from he was brought back up Hartford. Little things like that bother me. Full customization please.
-Also noticed that goalies don't get pulled when they are getting scored on. Where's the realism?

(1) Daily updates would be ludicrous, but weekly updates don't seem like too much to ask considering they don't change ratings.

(2) You can change jersey numbers -- pretty easily, in fact.

(3) Yes, they do. It depends on the team and circumstances. They even added an animation this year to show the change occurring on the ice.

How can I make that change?

I've never seen it. I've put up 6 on the Devils on multiple occasions and Cory Schneider was still out there. Same for going off on Tuukka Rask only for him to remain in net.

So, after the latest patch would you guys recommend picking-up NHL16?

The wife wants to get me a game for Christmas and I was thinking either this, PES16 or a non-sports game.

I just got finished 2 months of Mad Max so I'm kind of jonesing for a sports game.

If you can find it at a discounted price, yes. I've had fun with this game this year, even though there are times playing the ÇPU I want to throw my DS4, but that's true of all games I play.

Happily surprised. I'm back to playing games like I did with 2k10. Having sitdowns of 3, 4, 5 games at a time. Really enjoying it. Will take some tinkering. I found a sweet spot for my style right now.

I'd say yes.

I'm in the preseason working on some sliders, but why do teams seem to have a lot on NHL guys in the minors? This is using a recent EA roster.

Because you are in the pre-season and teams are playing a lot of other players than their typical full NHL lineup.

RnRexpress3423 and I just played two of the most offense deficient games that you'll ever see lol. We split 1-1 with each of us winning in a shootout. I had a lot of fun, though. $25 was quite a bargain for this considering how much I'm enjoying playing it.

Decided to put the disc in after a seriously long break. Played two games as Arizona and took the disc out laughing and shaking my head. Why don't the devs just get rid of beserker mode on the ai and just let the game be without it? Why are my guys clueless about loose pucks right next to them? You all know the list.

Yup NHL 16 is a bust. NHL Legacy got a patch today and it seems to have fixed some things and made other stuff worse. But still MUCH better then NHL16

Last year, I read that last-gen NHL 15 was better than current-gen.
How does the gameplay differ?

Gave it another go. You can feel it through the controller how the game totally cheats you. My guys slow down and become sluggish at important moments. They don't turn right they just wriggle and and lurch and look and feel like guys learning to skate and play hockey in a very amateur league. It is impossible to play it without getting angry. I play games to enjoy but this one is just so poor in that department.

That was the last time. Trading it in for the few dollars I'll get for it and I'll smile whilst I get whatever they give me.
