CPU Body Checking in Defensive Zone

So I've made quite the discovery. I can literally skate circles in the offensive zone because all the CPU will ever do is try to body check me. Seriously, it's ridiculous. I'm playing in Be a GM withe the Wings on AS/Hardcore with Attribute Effects at 3 (only change I made). This has happened in every single game I've played, regardless of the time left in the game or the score.

I get the puck at the half boards, and the nearest CPU defender will try to engage with a body check, and I can easily protect the puck and skate away. I can do this with literally any player on my team. It's completely predictable, boring, and really takes a lot of fun out of the game for me. Has everyone else noticed this?

Try turning Attribute Effect & AI Learning up to 6. This should make it harder for you.

They really need to get rid of the "protect the puck" feature because it is quite unstoppable. I think it ruins the immersion because once you go into that animation it takes a very specific contact to stop it. If you want to protect the puck, use the skill stick to keep it away from the opponent. this has bothered me for a while now.

Yeah that's true. I can definitely do it without holding A but it definitely gets a little bit harder without.

Absolutely agree about protecting the puck needing to be nerfed. The game isn't at a level where it has the minute interactions that are so key in the real life protect-the-puck battles. In consequence, defenders simply act as a buffer that is hard to go through but very, very easy to go around. I'd like to see a tuner address this by upping CPU aggressiveness when the attacker has the protect puck deployed.

Ya, there's no hitting just to move the player in this game, it's either miss the hit or destroy the guy. There are a lot of hits in the NHL that are just to move the guy off the puck, not to put him through the boards. A jostle hit is something that needs to be added.
