Defensive control tools/mapping-NHL 16

Can any of you tell me every defensive control in the game and how it is mapped for PS4 (or XB1)? EA's hockey games seem to always be notoriously thin on the defensive side of the puck. Curious how the D control is and what all we have at our disposal and if it is done well. On the verge of getting game but curious on this.

I'm sure there is body checks, poke check, etc but do you have free movement to sweep your stick? Are there contextual stick lifts ala 2K10/11 and tie ups in front of the net? I'm sure you can block a shot but can you also lay your stick down on the ice? Is there a good amount of board pinning and board scrums? A lot of this is fundamental and plus coming from all the years of 2K I am just used to those tools.

Where as the offense has an arsenal of moves, which I got killed by last night in EASHL even though I was in great position, we as defense really don't have any tools.

For xbox one.

RB-poke check
Hold RB and move right stick, sort of a free poke check but doesn't really work well.

Right stick - body check.
LB - lay stick down.
Y to pin on the boards.


That's it. So while singles are dipsy doodling and making you look like like a jerk, you can use the RB and mash it or try to body check but they just go by you.

In reality, the best defense is a good back check from the offense with good positioning by the defense.

also A for stick lift, LT for back skate or LT plus LS opposite direction to quick stop, works when needed to find a place to plant your flag and defend.
