    Re: AI/CPU Tactics Thread

This game has waaaaaaaaaaay too many issues, PK seems to boost the team's offensive awareness for some reason and PP seems to cause the team to play more conservatively, that's not how hockey is played and I swear to almighty God that EA Vancouver doesn't know much about the sport of hockey.

Seems when changing team strategy such as collapse at net or tight point, etc. When set to collapse, my teammates do NOT collapse hence leaving a player freely skating in front of my goaltender for a chance to tap/deflect it in 9 out of 10 times therefor I end up just having to switch to a defenseman and float in front of my goaltender everytime we are in our own zone.

I play GM mode and I find so many comical faults on both my side and the AI's side and it has been progressively getting worse since NHL 08 or 09- before that the NHL series played great most of the time (been playing since NHLPA '93).

Also the way AI plays is strange, I've played hockey for 18 years and rarely ever saw 4 players chase after the puck carrier leaving 4 other guys wide open like these screenshots.

They just never have been able to get the AI to work right since the skating engine upgrade. They can't react to the play and skate at the same time. This is often a problem with teammate AI. My team is ok in the attacking zone cycling, but on the rush, or on a breakout it looks like one of those vibrating tabletop football games at times.

Time to check in on the CPU's defense when they've got an empty net, courtesy of NHL 15 BMH on YouTube.

Obviously, #24 should be stepping up as soon as possible, especially when he sees the winger fumble the puck along the boards. No reason for letting him walk in like that.

AI situational awareness needs a big upgrade. They had it for goalies in 14, they can do it again.
