Re: NHL 17 - Competitive/Full Sim Comparison (Online Modes)

I'm a big Online VS guy and I'm about to return this POS. I'm about to vent before my return so thanks for reading if you do. To start this rant with some context, I have never been this person. I'm not one to get pissed off and not buy NHL one year or return the game because I wasn't impressed.

This is NHL 16, but worse. Goalies bite on everything. The same moves beat them over and over and over again. I've played this series for about 7 years now and this is the worst installment right behind NHL15.

The "skate through contact" element is back from 16, as you guys have pointed out. What happened to, "you can now knock someone off the puck and regain possession more easily" ? I poke, I hit, I never get the puck back. My opponent skates his ******* into the boards, no repercussion. Again, it rewards skill zone defense. I can't play the man because it's impossible to get the puck while pressuring, so I might as well just sit back and wait for a bad pass or a shot. My opponent can literally skate into me as I poke, hit, jam the left and right analogue for any type of response from the game, and he just continues to skate with possession like there are magnets in the puck and his stick. I'm also one person who uses the board play element when appropriate. It's a joke as your AI doesn't do anything.

In general, AI is ****ing abysmal. My guys don't do **** on defense (just like last year) and they keep running into me as I'm skating with the puck (worse than last year).
EA REWARDS BAD HOCKEY. And I'm ****ing done with it. Another year of a promising beta, only to be dumbed down for the "masses" that don't buy this game anyway.

I was 13-1-1 in the Beta. I'm 15-8-7 in release version. I'll take my money back EA. Maybe next year.

Re: NHL 17 - Competitive/Full Sim Comparison (Online Modes)

After seeing a lot of debate recently about Competitive 3 and Full Sim 4 below is the full difference between the two. Maybe this can help some see why they have better games on 3 instead of 4. Main thing that stands out as I pointed out in the online difference is skating impact. Its at 0, compared to 45. Everyone uses the left stick different, pressure in directions etc. this effects puck control and the puck coming off the stick very easy. This IMO has more of an impact on what peoples gripes are. Maybe use the sliders you were set on and adjust this slider to 0. Hmmmm? Maybe that would do the trick?

Complete list of slider differential between Competitive (default online) and Full Sim.

This is a good info. Mickey Mayham found by using arcade then entering your sliders the gameplay had a slick and on ice feel to it (it also had too high of scores for most games) but the feel to it was sweet.

Same thing with post whistle rules, where anything goes has that feel to it but also has same easier/higher scores but the feel is sweet.

Whatever it is really hooped it online and it's back to last years in some integral ways. My friends and i all noticed it.

Wonder if deleting game from main page on ps4 and reinstalling would work again, without using latest tuner.
