I got an email from EA regarding a survey for NHL this morning. Anybody else get one?

I get doing a survey for new game modes but WHY OH WHY ask people if they want...

Now I get what Neo was saying, if you have to ask, there must be a shift of plan if you have to ask people if they value players playing like themselves.

By the way I found this on reddit I don't use my old email that has EA send me stuff. Anyway this is kind of disheartening, I always assumed this was a given and execution was the problem but that no matter what eventually they would get there, and the game AI has become better over the years.

According to the link above, Defensive Skill Stick is finally coming:

On defense, the new Defensive Skill Stick delivers full control over your stick to target poke checks, keep sticks extended, or sweep sticks back and forth for zone coverage.

I didn't screen shot the NHL 3's mode but it was on the survey too. Sounded similar to the old NHL 3 on 3 Arcade from back in the day. No mention of any EASHL, Be a Pro, Franchise Mode or HUT changes in the survey.

Very disappointing beyond the long overdue defensive skill stick(which will probably be buggy anyway).

The last thing this game needs is more gimmicky stuff ala "chained dekes" or headstand celebrations. This is the kind of stuff you add AFTER the other issues are fixed.

I got the survey too and was underwhelmed by the additions coming in the next release. As usual I gave them my honest opinion about the flaws of the game and the direction I see them heading, while pointing out that I'm not their target demographic - aside from the fact I purchase the game lol.

I know it's marketing, but the hyping of taking over the Las Vegas franchise, while appealing, is really a big nothing as far as actual impact. That's not a game development, it's a real world world development that will excite a few gamers, but that option is essentially already in the game. It tells me they are reaching for things to hype the game this year.
