Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
I havent played NHL this year....but one of the great things I like about Franchise Mode in NBA 2K and MLB the Show series is the ability to pick any game on the schedule and jump in and play that matchup in your League.
Its also cool to be able to play out all the post season playoff games as well.
I like controlling one team throughout the year, but I also like to randomly play key games from time to time with other teams. It makes it fun
Im wondering if the NHL 18 allows that this year in Franchise mode.....?
Nah. Nothing close to that. You can’t even view all team schedules. The only way to see the scores happening around the league is from slide interface from the franchise dashboard.PS4 | jamiedallaireComment

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
1. Good commentary
2. AI.and offline gameplay this needs to be a lot better and more organic
3. More differences between players and team strategy differences more refined.. Stars are noticeable, snipers, playmakers, speed, skating styles, stick handling, hitting, grinders, etc
4. More editable music and arena specific, highlight goals, ticker, intermission, presentation
5. More effects.. snow sprays, board shakes, net collisions , sound effects.. pads, posts, glass, boards, animated jumbotrim, fan chants, trophies at end of year .. MVP, etcComment

If you press LB you'll cancel yourself from instantly passing the puck. You have to be quick to do so though.Comment

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
1-5. Better Gameplay... It's been said before, but really needs to be said again.
Won't happen, though. I know it for a fact. Their only focus as far as gameplay is to tweak small things for online play. Even if they did start working solely on gameplay I'm sure it would take at least 3 years to make it fun with the amount of effort they put in each year. They could add 50+ new features next year, and I wouldn't care because the on-ice gameplay is just trash. When the game is in motion, it looks and feels almost nothing like the actual sport. Skating is sluggish, players constantly keep the puck after getting hit, goalies are still horrible, players miss easy shots extremely often and for some reason refuse to tap in goals a 6 year old could score (and I don't mean they take inaccurate shots, that is to be expected. No, they miss hitting the puck ENTIRELY, far too often...). And the AI... oh man, the AI.
Against friends it can be kinda fun because the AI is garbage for both teams and not just yours. However, the AI is so bad that you can only really make the simplest of plays, meaning all the games you play will be extremely similar (Played 15 games with friends in a row that ended 3-2) and the game gets stale super quick. Me and my friends used to set up playoffs with different teams & leagues and have a blast playing all year long back in the day. This year we haven't even made it halfway through the first round of our first playoff, and we are so bored we are probably already done playing.
Singleplayer mode, forget about it. It feels like you're playing 1v9 hockey with how abysmal your AI teammates are. The opponent CPU is ridiculously unrealistic and unfair on the higher modes, too. They take the puck without even touching you, have 90%+ passing even with their slider at 0, even physics is disgustingly in their favor now. Pucks will constantly go through my players skates and even their stick blades, and I've had a ton of times where I poke the puck towards one way and it flies the complete opposite direction right to another CPU player. The puck literally defies the laws of physics to make its own way to the CPU. It makes it impossible to enjoy the game on All-Star and above. Playing on Pro takes away the CPU cheese, but even with sliders heavily in favor of the CPU it is so easy it isn't fun.Cleveland Browns

Passing slider on 0, on Superstar. No 90% passing at all. I dominated the above game, couldn’t score. Lost the game and didn’t feel cheated at all.
I play home games on All-Star and road games on Superstar.

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
I'm gonna need to check your sliders out sometime then, Fiddy. I used them in one of the past next-gen NHL games and I remember them working pretty good. That game summary looks pretty nice too. Does the AI actually "earn" goals in your games? I mean, do they actually set up plays or do they blindly shoot? With me, the AI just slides into the zone, I force them to take a really bad angle shot and they still score. Gets very annoying very fast.Cleveland Browns

I’ve been using the second version of sliders in my thread. Basically Default Sim, with some changes like the passing. Check em out. Maybe that can help you enjoy the game a bit.
The two goals Marchand scored on me were well earned. I turned the puck over on one and he scored on a deflection for the other. Solid game.

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
I want a true gm mode. Somehow I don't think Lou lamoriello is in charge of setting the prices for hotdogs or budgeting for arena repairs.
Hiring and firing coaches.
Hiring scouts.
Bring back the trade deadline.
Putting players on LTIR.
Offer sheeting players should have some kind of repercussions in the league.
Etc.

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
Maybe these lazy ****s at EA will finally get the players to turn the correct way instead of looking like a bunch of morons. Also cpu movement is ****ing ******** stop start stop start, left, right , stop *Insert dime pass to random cpu player in the corner who then immediately passes it to the point *repeat. Actually my favorite feature is AI players skating directly past a loose puck or just staring at it like its not even part of the game. Cant forget the poke check where the puck stops and doesn't go anywhereComment

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
What about 47 features we would love to see in NHL 19?
Franchise Mode
1- Hire/fire staff (including real life coaches) who have strengths and weaknesses
2- Non trade/movement clauses to contracts
3- Total revamp of the Trade deadline, including increased trade values for players with 1 year left and playing for a selling team, maybe add a bidding system to see what other teams are offering
4- Total revamp of the Free agents day... top free agents don't wait 7 days to sign with a team, they sign mostly on day 1
5- Contracts based on production and age, not solely on overall (seeing a 82 OVR rookie I developed in AHL during 3 years demanding a 5M$ contract is ridiculous)
6- Salary arbitration
7- Contract bonuses
8- Player/goalie fatigue, increasing with age
9- In game goalie injuries
10- Line chemistry (could be mixed with morale)
11- Multi-position player (Ie Galchenyuk is a LW/C)
12- Suspensions
13- Draft lottery animation
14- Edit player ratings during BeaGM
15- Player demands (ice time, line change, trade, etc.)
16- Keeping track of your CHL rookies
17- Bring back hot and cold streaks
BeaPro
18- Draft animations (interviews, team meetings, putting that long awaited NHL jersey for the first time, make this event mean something!)
19- Training sessions like MLB The Show to improve your skills
20- Being able to refuse to sign your entry level contract (Ie you were drafted by Buffalo but you want to be traded)
21- Player demands, like more playing time, getting some time off, switching position, number, asking for a trade with a team you selected
22- Getting more exp points when you win trophies
23- Interactions between players to build morale/likeability
24- Contract negotiations (if my agent tells me I'm worth about 4M$, I could ask for 4M$ and see other teams propositions)
EASHL
25- Post whistle penalties
26- Player reputation. After every game, we should be able to rate players, so you will be able to track these little ****** who just wait at the red line to get the breakaway pass or that D who is always forechecking on PK
27- Being able to vote to kick out trolls
General gameplay/presentation (offline and online)
28- Precision movement on defense
29- Way better AI on defense and NZ
30- Better goalies
31- Better player separation
32- Getting thrown off faceoffs
33- 5 player goal celebration
34- Multi-type players (Toews is a TWF/PLY, McDavid is a PLY/SNP)
35- AHL arenas and goal songs
36- Real team intros
37- Full player customization (name, face, equipment, goalie masks, etc.)
38- Real arena announcers
39- French commentators
40- Fight instigation penalties
41- Home advantage in line changes
42- Skating/stance styles to differentiate players
43- Front of the net melees, mostly when playing a rival or during playoffs (with NZ faceoff when dmen come down in the fight like in real life)
44- Roster sharing
45- Slider sharing
46- Custom sounds/music
47- More player typesComment

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
These are the main ones for myself at least
1. 31-32 team control.
2. Roster sharing.
3. Attribute separation meaning something.
4. Getting as many player models as accurate as possible.
5. Edit player ages for current players.Comment

Re: Five Features We Would Love to See in NHL 19
In game franchise stuff...
More stat overlays.. show the PP% and PK% on powerplays, show OT records when you go into OT, show record when a team scores first, more and more of this type of stuff really helps with immersion.
Intros are so boring and repetitive, surely by now we can have team specific intros? Introduce the lineups/scratches?
I would like commentary to carry over into the intermission and during the game talk about your franchise/league stuff. Commentary that would go over the scores from around the league would be great, "Tarasenko scores his 40th of the season as the Blues beat the Blackhawks 4-3".
Coaches challenge needs added. Recap of battles during the game, etc..Comment
