    Player career 17 vs 18

Was wondering if someone could help me out please.

Basically I still have NHL 17, been enjoying the BAP mode but my team mates are really stupid at collecting the puck a lot of times...

How is NHL 18 in my player mode? Do they play better than 17?

Or is it easy to fix it with sliders in 17? Not sure if human sliders affect my team mates in career.

    Thanks!

So yes and no. I remember I think it was back in NHL 12 they did a fantastic job with the AI and their ability to effectively cycle the puck, I felt that's been lacking the last few years. It's something the AI is smart enough to do again this year, and while they do do it, it is also easy to lose the puck because of the stick and puck physics. So no more every player being able to hold onto the puck like Datsyuk. But it's more realistic and fun in my opinion. And this is just straight BAP without touching sliders.

I'd go for it. Ff you can, wait a couple weeks for a Black Friday deal, but as a primary offline player I feel the AI is a good reason to pick it up alone

Thanks man, I will watch out for a sale and get 18.

What happens a lot in 17 is they go for the puck and either board themselves while they could easily pass or they get the puck and slowly start turning but they do it the wrong way, always towards the opposition.

That 'boarding' is tied to a slider they introduced last year called stumble. It seems to be toned down a bit straight out of the box but it's always something that can be dialed down and it won't drastically change things. However once you get used to it, going back makes it feel like a little kids arcade game NOT crashing into the boards.

And passing without getting an interception this year is a bit harder, but it just means you have to think before you just try to pass to the slot on the rush. For me it's almost muscle memory to do so but I end up turning the puck over most times. So it does in a way force more playing the puck behind the goal and in the corners and make 'safer' plays. Your teammates are good about this though.

My only frustration so far, mind you I'm not even 10 games into a BAP and on the Devils, is it seems harder for your team to actually posses the puck and at times you can seem to always be playing defense. But for me it's a good change up from always winning and scoring at a 2 PPG pace
