Yeah, that's always going to be the biggest factor in my purchasing the game or not. Sure, everyone looking like they do, and giving me the ability to create jerseys and logos with actual importing files instead of their crappy pre-set logos would be nice...

But at the end of the day, I'm still not getting the game if I can't count on my center to not stand at the blue line and both of my defenders to check one guy in the corner while two of their forwards wait in front of the net, only to score on a puck the guy getting checked by two players kicks through and they score because my goalie poke checks and sits still instead of covering the bottom of the net.

A ps3/xbox port with slider tweeks. That is all this game is now.

"Skillzfromthe6" created some epic NHL/NBA mashups for NBA 2k16 a while
back. I'm talking importing real logos, center ice logos/ads and full
            uniform creation.

You can check 'em out on YouTube.

We need this ability in our hockey game EA!

Re: Annual EA survey previewing NHL 19 features

There are some great ideas in these potential features. Since gameplay is by far the most important thing for me, four of them really stand out. Having all of them would be unbelievable, but unfortunately, I don't think we will have more than one or two, at least for next year.

The last big step in the right direction for me was the introduction last year of many more sliders and 0-100 scales, giving us the ability to customize the game a lot more offline. However, I think some of the proposed features would give this game another big step in the future.

"Collision physics" would get my first place vote, since collisions, 1 on 1 battles, board battles and stick on stick collisions are so important in hockey and this part of the game needs an overhaul or at least big improvements. Well implemented, I think it would change completely how we play the game.

Then at second, "real player differentiation" would definitely be something great. Having superstars playing and acting differently one from another with different playing styles would be something. To be able to recognize players just by the way they play and what they are able or not able to do out there, like we do in real life, and not only by their look, it would give this game a big wow factor.

"Real player movement tech" would also be a good thing. When we read the title, it seems to be about an overhaul of the skating engine, which would be nice, but the description also talks about other areas like shooting, passing and physics. Quite intriguing.

Finally, "UGC customization", if obviously rosters and sliders sharing is part of it and not only users arenas, gears creation, equipment parts. My ultimate wish would be to be able to share rosters and sliders with others and then be able to play online with them (custom rosters and sliders). Even if it would only be available for custom online single games, it would already be great.

Real player differentiation, collision physics, and real player movement tech are much needed. Tired of all this other crap that means nothing when the game is no fun at all and plays nothing like real hockey. If the gameplay is the same again it'll be my 3rd year in a row skipping.

Real player differentiation, new commentators and new broadcast presentation please!!

I'm assuming there will be new commentators for the game since Eddy is fighting colon cancer and getting treatment for this. Doubt he will be in next year's game because of this.

Fix the goalies too. We need more in the variety of goal types and saves.

Does this game feature a "live" functionality? For example, in Madden or MLB you can play a game that day, with up to date stats and commentary. Does this not exist in NHL 18?

I did this survey too; i recall some of those things mentioned in the questions.
I think overall it sounds okay. I asked for roster sharing, more stats in franchise mode, and sliders that work every game.

I think you have to start with the basic functionality, just like you do when you're rebuilding a Franchise in real life or in any sports game.

I would think, that out of all the subjects listed, 3 of them will be able to be green-lit for upcoming NHL 19 title. So without much effort you get 2 of the 3 right away:

Real Player Movement Tech - In any video game, a big part of how well a product is received comes down to not just how well the character models move, but how believable it looks. For sports games this is an even bigger deal, especially when how the player moves has such a huge impact on the actual game play. One of the key complaints for the last few years has centered around the skating engine that has left the game feeling flat footed for far too long.

Collision Physics - One the players can finally move like the real thing, the next item has to be physics. A lot was done to make the puck behave in a better manner, but it still needs a lot of work to come anywhere close to the real thing. It has a little too much super slide on it that result in icing, and it seldom finds it's way over the glass like you see in the real game. It certainly doesn't feel like a "lose object" that you see on TV. Having the stick constantly being a solid object would also be incredibly welcome as it is a key player in the actual game of hockey.

Real Life Player Differentiation - This covers a lot of areas mentioned in the previous two choices. It does however mention players actually looking unique and in a way says that different skill sets should be given or limited to a certain type or caliber of player if not outright unique to a certain individual. This would go a long way in helping the game feel more alive, and really create a true need to understand not just your team but the position a skater is placed in. Even if you enjoy the current title, knowing that you can put your DD LD at LW and have him perform as a forward just as well as he does on defense definitely a let down.

There are definitely other areas I'd like to see included, like the ability to further customize all the create-a-team and player stuff and sharing it online, and if there is a sweet merciful god the ability to scout as they described, and of course Online Franchises, which they didn't list. However, with that said, you don't throw a kid in swimmies on the USA Olympic Swim Team and ask him to medal. We need the building block of a great game to really come together for NHL 19, and it starts with the 3 parts of game play I highlighted from the survey.

Re: Annual EA survey previewing NHL 19 features

I only play franchise mode so my list only pertains to that part

                                1. Seasons. needs to be more than 25. Should be infinity. Eventually we get bored and start a new one but i hate drafting a franchise player in year 23 and by the time he is good at 20, my GM Franchise career is over.

                                2. Trading at draft. If the game allows me to cheat i will. Sorry. But when i can simulate a draft and find a High Trade value player age 19 or 20 in round 5 and then draft him and immediately turn around and trade him for the top overall pick cause his rating is an 80 vs a 59 for my guy, this shouldnt happen. Pretty much any 19 or 20 year old i have draft even though he showed as an Elite player and had high trade value if his rating was 65 or under it never got higher so i just traded him for the picks that went in the top 5 since they usually always get better.

                                3. Trading outside of draft. I have that said prospect after 2 years and his rating is a whooping 63 but has high trade value and is 22 years old i can flip him to another team and they usually give me 4 1st rd picks for this "Bust" of a prospect. I do it cause the game allows me to do it.

                                4. Goalies. I had drafted a Franchise goalie as all franchise players i have drafted turned out to be awesome except for the goalie. After his ELC was up i resigned him when his rating was only a 72. He was 22. Thinking maybe he would get a spike i signed him to an 8 year deal 2mil AAV. But he never got better, by age 24 he was 74 rating and I traded him for 4 1st rd picks. Seems goalies are rare to get good from the draft. Only had drafted 1 that actually made it past a rating of 90. Usually the one i get in the Expansion draft is the best one for me for the first 8 years of Franchise mode

                                5. Penalties. I have to cheat here too cause It seems if i dont i will always have 12 against me and none for the AI most games i play. So i jack up the penalties for the AI to even it out. usually bout the same now .

                                6. Please fix the stats. Show where players played what team. Total goals, assists, points, PIM, ect.
Also award they won in their profile. Just like NBA 2k18 does. They have a page on every player All star games, MVPs, rookie of the year, Even go more in depth when that player was traded. its lacking for the past 5 years when it just says 2017- NHL - is it really that hard to put a team in there BOS, COL, NYI. come on . Also include special stats like career hat tricks or even 4 goal and 5 goal games. Like NBA 2K18 it has a season high and career high.
