As an offline BAGM only player (hate playing against idiots online), can't really tell if there has been any changes to the AI this year from just the beta. I'm really hoping they have a little more aggression to them than in previous years.

Both games would be so much better if 2KSport was still 2KSports.

The game is becoming less and less 'NHL" and more "Pond/Arcade Hockey" each year.
Next modes to come "Table Hockey", "Zamboni race" and "Fight Royale".

And they barely touched the Be a pro mode which is quite frankly absolutely terrible.

The series is agonizing.

The core NHL game is still there, they must continue to expand the game beyond just that though because it's what people expect for them to continue to sell it year to year-end otherwise everyone will just say "ROSTER UPDATE"

The WORST parts of the 1v1v1:

The corners at the end away from the net. Whoever goes to get the puck is gonna get BLASTED. You just end up sacrificing yourself to keep the game going.

Getting run away from the play. Some people just hit people away from the play to take them out. They should get a 30-second 'penalty' when that happens. Maybe the CPU takes over and makes them skate to the side. I know it is no rules, but that stuff is just cheap.

CLOWN GEAR. The gear you win is just stupid. I'd rather get real gear. They should offer 2 paths. Clown gear and Pro gear and let the user decide what path to take.

Exactly right, and this year they're adding RPM to make the players react quicker. Wait a minute, they reacted quickly in NHL 08-10, but if you remember correctly when Ramjagsingh took over, NHL 11 and on were like skating in mud. So all EA is doing is going back to way the game was 10 years ago and charging us full price for nothing more than fancier graphics and a few more meaningless game modes.

The ai, based on the 19 beta in eashl, is still as ******** as ever, and the exact same glitch goals are still being used and abused. Yet EA, the monopoly that they are, continue to dish out the same core game year after year knowing they have zero competition. It's truly sad that a company like this gets away with releasing nothing more than updates to their previous title and still have the balls to charge full price for it.

At least one gaming store in the states stood up to EA's crap and sent back all of their copies of Madden 19 to their distributor after watching videos of how badly programmed and scripted that game is. It's the exact same thing with FIFA and NHL, but until people take action and stop buying their games, nothing is going to change no matter how much we complain.

"Responsive" sure, but realistic? Really?

Is this so-called responsiveness always what makes the skating fun? I mean if you can move the SKATER on the ice surface without proper momentum. If there is no momentum in the real world, would a hockey game be still as fun, as is now? I don't think so.

Not only that it feels wrong, it also looks stupid. Ya, the puck carrier moves funny obviously, but take a good attention to the non-puck carriers in this vid. How is this an improvement from the sim perspective?

It’s getting sad with sports games these days. Totally getting away from the core gameplay and making it realistic to the sport. I’ll be playing nhl13 ps3, 99 on PC and 2k8. Madden sux, nhl looks **** my fav 2 sports. I wish 2k or Sony still made a hockey game, nfl. I wish show developers would get into nfl and nhl games.

What the actual fu-k .. the puck carrier is weird but not totally terrible. The off player movements are so wonky though cant believe this is what they call an improvement, especially the guy pivotting in 1milisecond doing a 360 when he passes him so funny
