The people that say nothing has changed clearly didn't touch the beta. It's clearly different in many ways gameplay wise.

I’m buying. I’m usually an offline franchise guy, but ones was so fun for me.

The skating and hitting is a great step in the right direction. I really hope presentation is better this year but I’m not holding my breath.

I’m also jonesing so hard for anything and everything Hockey.

I play only Franchise too. Not worth to buy it. Maybe when it is on sale. So many things missing. 90% no real faces, an only play with one Team in one career. No open stats to review past games in calender. No other and new leagues to play. Miss negotiation button for trade negotiations. Miss Jerseys and new Goalie masks or creator app. Miss a player logbook with youth stats and named by Teams not NHL or AHL. Miss in this logbook trades and fir whom be traded. Where to hell is roster import and sharing for my some hundred created players in 18? ... And much, much more

I’m torn. I liked what I saw in the skating engine but I’m not convinced that will be enough to counter the absolutely idiotic AI. The truth is they have done very little to appeal to offline gamers. That said I’ve owned every NHL release since SEGA Genesis making me a bigger dope than I thought..... If they had a simple overdue roster share many of these no’s and maybes would be yes......get it EA?

The initial reveal angered & disappointed me. I had tons of fun with Ones in the beta & the RPM feels like a complete overhaul. I pre-ordered & pre-installed.


A small thing but every sports video game has playoff information on the score overlay (round, game#, series score) except NHL. And judging by the Cup Final gameplay video from July it looks like NHL is still the only one without it. Can't be hard to add, can it?

The beta impressed me more than anticipated for sure. I was surprised that they actually managed to make it feel different to get around the ice, finally. I went back to 18 during the beta to compare and lasted about half a period.

Having said that, I still don't have high hopes that the game will keep my attention for long, as I'm sure old issues will still creep up. I'm dying for an alternative option, but I simply can't go without a hockey game each season. Barring a couple years in high school where I didn't really play video games, I've always had it.

Already pre-ordered....can't wait....wahoo...going to load my NHL 18 sliders and start a franchise to see how they work on 19. Will most likely have to tweak them somewhat...debating on changing attributes...can't see Price being so high...geez...

10 days until release - are you buying it?

I have no urge to buy it this year. It’s been on and off since the strike year. I’ll be busy with the move and settling into a new house anyways. So it looks like a no go unless the feedbacks impresses me, then who knows. But no plans on buying it as of now. I’ve always been a hardcore hockey fan, got game every year. But it looks like The Show has stolen me away the past 2-3 years.

10 days until release - are you buying it?

Will buy. Money’s not a factor because I always get a good 50-100 hours out of these games even if I’m not smitten with it. Just a nice way to kill 45 minutes on cold winter nights. Not every game needs to be the best thing ever for me to buy it.
