His answer regarding custom music is both encouraging & disappointing. Hopefully it comes sooner rather than later, but I don't understand how licensing is an issue if I would be the only person hearing the music I assigned & you could put any music in the game from NHL 09-Legacy. Then again, I'm not in his position so he knows more than I do

No, there are no Adidas jerseys. Now we got ccm jerseys when creating teams. And i love how he basically said, that they dont care about gm mode 😂

"Yeah it's something that we talk about every year, but we only have so much time to put features in. I mean, the mechanic already exists in the game, and it was something that we had in the game for a week a couple years ago, and it would take less than a day to actually fix the code. But.......I mean.........we only have so much time and features have to get put on the back burner.........even though we talk about it every year........and.......the mechanic already exists............and we already had it in the game once...................soooo....................ye ah it's not gonna happen any time soon."

The fact that there is a total of 1:17 w/regards to "other changes made in franchise mode" makes me think that I'll not enjoy listening to this...

To save you any hassle he basically said "yeh scoutings the big change, there's a few things to help flow, but that's the big change.
I got a guy here who's a big GM player but I'm more an online guy blah blah blah..."

              Won't get that 1:17 back. [emoji23]

Poor guy, man. He seems so uninterested and uninformed. Maybe it’s time to move on. Nice to see other developers get a bit more camera time this year.

This forum makes me so sad anymore. I remember the heyday back on the PS3. NHL 09 through about NHL 13 I remember being an absolute blast with huge improvement to GM Mode every year. The trade deadline was a blast. Players who injured your stars got booed in your arena. Custom music blew the walls off what you could do with the game. I had it to the point where I would realistically set Flyers fans to chant "Crosby Sucks" during almost every break in play.

Wow, I miss what this game once was. Don't get me wrong, the pure hockey experience has gotten better. NBC presentation helps too. Franchise is still fun. But, the little things that we once had I miss so much.

The game is being developed without any passion and is all about earning money after the initial purchase. Micro-transactions basically killed the sport genre IMO.

Before Micro-transactions, revenues were all from selling the game. They had incentives to improve the product. They don't anymore. Their main addition this year ? Legends. Just another trick to increase pack sales.

EA is not the only one to blame. SDS and 2K are doing the same thing.

I picked up hockey games every year from the early 2000’s through NHL 15. It was apparent that they were not interested in franchise, so I stopped buying. The thing of it is, I always end up playing the card collecting modes and spending a little bit more money on those modes. By not having a focus on franchise, they lose out on my $60 purchase and microtransactions

Thus, NBA 2k got my money this year, and already $50 in VC because their GM mode is fantastic. I live in GM mode 85% of the time, and MyTeam the other 15%. These companies can have both, but choose not to do so. Honestly, thy are just lazy. This is also why I have to bought FIFA in years, and that this Madden is my last. Honestly, it feels good to say FU you EA.

The sad fact is that as long as people still go out and buy it every year and put money into HUT and the other micro-transactions EA have no incentive to actually do anything different and we probably won't see anything big or game changing now until the PS5/New XBox generation.

What we'd all need to collectively do is not buy it for a year or two. Like NHL 20 if nothing really changes then skip a year and when they wonder why nobody is buying NHL tell them that you have guys that Rammer there who clearly don't give a crap anymore and need to go, the things we've been asking you to fix for year now you still haven't and all the great stuff that used to be in the game you've removed.

Also the other thing that is a major point is that they have no competition. There is nobody else besides EA making hockey games and with nobody to challenge them and take money away from them, they can sit back and do however much or little they feel like because there's nobody to challenge them to stay innovative and for us hockey fans it's either this or not have a hockey game to play.

Of course we all know this will never happen because there will always be people out there who will buy it yearly regardless sadly and give them money.

Also that BS about goalies taking over the extra skater and his we talk about it, it was in the game, then it was taken out and it would take like a day or less to put it in but we don't have time. Really? He does realise what he said was pretty much we can put it back in the game and it would take no time at all...but we can't because we don't have the time. Just be honest and say you can't be bothered so it's not going to happen. Either that or it's because to him if it's not online it doesn't matter and he probably thinks that not many people actually like to play goalie so what's the point.

My biggest problem with the NHL development is the condescending, antagonist attitude the developers have for anyone outside streamers/HUT/etc. Talking down and acting like basic requests for non-online features are huge issues is insulting.

I enjoy the game overall every year and know it's a tough job with a smaller team but the way they talk to the media needs to be improved. SDS with MLB The Show is the worst at it ("look how amazing our only franchise mode update is! it's just new menus!") but these guys really appear to dislike the community besides the people who feed their ego. As someone who just wants a good game but understand HUT comes first it gets annoying that my biggest requests (better emotion in the game, better presentation and atmosphere, create-a-play) are basically met with "you're dumb for even thinking about those."

I have no idea what they actually think and know it's not their forte (they're developers) but they need to be trained better at answering questions without condescending people.

This forum gets smaller and smaller each year.. too bad EA doesn't check in to see how little talk there is of their NHL game.
