Re: NHL 19 Patch 1.31 Available Now - Patch Notes Here

Not really sure what thread to post this in, so I chose this one. I think I saved NHL 19 from collecting dust in my PS4 sports game collection. I decided to change three things and the game is playing much better for my style of play. I use AlTitos sliderset but on PRO difficulty. AllStar difficulty was too over the top for me. So on to my three simple, yet significant changes to the sliders. I have all of the goalie reaction sliders set to 45 for both HUM/CPU and I have CPU difficulty set to 1 out of 6. In the last three games of my franchise, I am 1-1-1. I had a 3-2 OT loss, a 3-2 loss in regulation and a 6-3 win. Even with the goalie reaction sliders toned down from 50 to 45, I’ve seen a drastic improvement in the goalies organic movements. These subtle tweaks have saved NHL 19 for me. That is until EA ruins it all with another patch....

Every patch/tuner is making the game way worse for me. In be a pro I was having good games before. Now? Every game is 4 or 5 to 1. The teammate AI just went backwards. Before my players were making plays, now they just skate right into the CPU players with the puck and coast.

The CPU is just in "beast mode" too. They can steal the puck from my team so fast. I spend the entire game on D chasing around. Very frustrating. I'm not sure if it was a patch or a tuner that broke the game for me. I'm literally losing every game. 5 in a row and counting.

      edit: 6 losses in a row. 6-2.

I've played two games since the patch and quite the first Street 10 pps in the first period, and completed the second with 11 for the game.

Something is up as the ai waves its sick around all the time. 80% off the calls were slashing

This years game is the best hockey game I've played in a very long time. I love the way the goalies don't sit in the butterfly anymore and I'm seeing more varied animations and glove saves as they are able to get back up now. If they had Madden's presentation, I would be in hockey heaven.

Did you win any games on the patch with which you had the 6 losses?

EA's coding can ramp up the difficulty/intensity for a game mode to simulate streaks and what not. I also believe they adjust for a user profile too or that could just be set patterns, but you will see swings in difficulty and AI behavior. You'll go through ups and downs regardless of what patch/tuner you're using.

I could be wrong, but you might just be misinterpreting a "dynamic difficulty adjustment" for what you're perceiving as a patch based alteration. Your "turn" for a down swing might have coincided with the installment of the patch.

I myself didn't notice a change in difficulty with the recent patch. I also have only been playing "Play Now" games, so swings in difficulty adjustments haven't been streaky for me, maybe just a game or two.
