Not sure if this is right thread for this but I found an interesting bug. When you start a franchise mode with Colorado Mikko Rantanen is missing from the roster. He’s not scratched or not in the AHL nor injured. Just missing.

Everybody has his own opinion but it's not fair to say the game feels almost identical compared to NHL 19. Puck pickups and pass receptions are way better in NHL 20 than NHL 19 and it combined with a lot naturalistic shooting animations and goalies makes a feeling and a flow of the game very different.

So I swindled my Buddy down to $15. This game has some major flaws. One I noticed is if you wrap the puck around the boards on the left side in your own zone, the puck comes to a complete stop along the boards. Seen this already four times.

Just wanted to say that this new commentary is simply outrageous.

There are moments so out of place when this guy screaming at me that I literally want to throw the controller on TV or punch the guy back in his face or something Lol

Also the players reminds me puppets or some kind of toys dancing above the ice. Definitely not grown athletes skating on the ice surface.

And the passing? What happened to passing? It's like there is magnet in the puck and there players just throwing the puck without actual passing animations.

It literally looks broken to me.
Yeah and the AI? Don't let me start with that Lol.

I don't know, I think this game is just not for me anymore

Yeah I agree. I just turn the commentary off.

Is the passing really bad on this version, like DJNeo said? Based on videos it has been looking even worse than on NHL 19. Super hard passes with magnet and sometimes even without animation. Does it also feel bad?

Next year they need put that "RPM tech" to passing.

Pass receptions, puck pickups and shooting are three areas which are highly improved in NHL 20 and those three things makes a difference when comparing NHL 20 to NHL 19. Tuned rosters with highly modified player ratings and special slider set made to work with my tuned rosters with those three major updates changed offline gameplay highly enjoyable for me.

Well, there are some passing animations to be clear, but they are so fast that they are barely visible or noticeable.

Also, I don't think they need "RPM tech" to make the passing look better, they can do it very easily now, just by tuning these animations to run at a realistic speed. That's like 5 minutes to do that, believe me.

But they just don't want to, period.

BUT they need to improve the AI, teach them how to pass the puck or when not to. Improve the puck physics.

But they obviously don't think it's important enough in a hockey game to allocate resources to it or they don't know how to do it.

What DJ Neo means is that there are a lot of times the animations of the players don't sync with the action. Like you'll see a shot take off from a stick before the player even animates the shot. Same with passes. For instance you'd think a breakout pass from the D to the Winger would have some oompf to it and a little bit of a windup, but no. Most times the puck just shoots up at lightning speed and you barely get any animation behind the action.

I guess for a forward it doesn't really matter much, but for a defenseman or (worse) a goalie, if you don't get a tell for what type of action is happening, it can make life very difficult as you need to make decisions quickly sometimes, but the game gives you little of that. Most times you just have to guess.

I think you both are right, from what i have seen and played on previous versions.

Lack off wind up animations, AI logic are problems also at NHL 19. And also there are those bad animations where player hands or stick arent at logical or realistic position. There could RPM tech help a lot with better animations and that added to better puck physics, playing could be more varied and realistic.
