Found Austin Watson as well. Kinda neat to see players like him, Givani Smith, Tanner Jeannot, Garnet Hathaway and Mathieu Olivier get some attention. Always like to have a grit/energy player in my lineup and was previously limited to very few fourth liners with face scans.

This is the first year that the first draft picks didn't have face scans or portraits,they have gone from bad to worse.

im pretty high on ea rn with the new likeness-system but if the rookies dont have faces im losing it

Yep,roster update,no face scans or portraits for rookies,oh yeah I doesn't pertain to HUT or on line.

I don’t think there will be many “updated” scans this year. We got more at launch than usual, so I think that’s the extent of it unfortunately. In the matter or player portraits, EA is actually at the mercy of the NHL. The NHL has to send an approved headshot to the people at EA. For some reason it’s hard for EA to get these in the game after release. Why? I can’t elaborate because I don’t know. But that’s what we were told a few years ago when the “silhouette” pictures were brought up in a developer Q&A a few years ago. They seem to be a bit behind this year as players who debuted late in the year I.e. Gauthier, sheamus Casey, etc. didn’t have portraits at launch. Which leads me to believe that portraits may be collected for next years game somewhere around mid to late mid-season of current year

Check the EASHL player face editor for real generic faces.
When FC or Madden face editor will arrive ingame, I'll take my words back.
