Help! My friend keeps beating me!

He does the same thing all the time. Goes down behind my net and just skates around and somehow my guys can never get the puck from him, eventually he finds a guy in the slot and BAM! Goal. I can't stop it. I'm going to hurt him! Is there a strategy setting that will help??? I use tight point and contain puck. Doesn't seem to work. Thanks!

try protect the net and staggered and crash the net and defend the lead.

Stop puck chasing and clog his passing lanes lol. That's all he does because you make no adjustment to stop his only way of scoring

This, but you also need to be controlling the guy closest to the puck as much as possible because the CPU players on your team don't take defensive actions (poking, body checking, etc.) in head to head play - they will only play positionally. Not a bug, it's by design because in games between users the devs wanted user skills to matter more than the ratings dictating how everything succeeds/fails.

If you don't the other person can skate around your guys pretty easily and get in good position for a shot. That doesn't mean just chase the puck carrier with one guy though - if a pass stretches out your defense switch to the next guy closest to the puck so you can pressure them more quickly.

I'm not a fan of it personally, but that's how this game works. Devs on EA's NHL forum explained it pretty clearly at one point.
