Wow, SuperGoalies likes it! I'm shocked at this development.

That looked exactly like the pile of crap I was expecting. More arcade garbage, more EASHL/HUT garbage, just trash, all around.

perhaps, I was watching it at slow speed, if you scroll to 0.08, you'll see be a pro mode and a world of chel, another thing I was looking at was if the player motion was fixed, it looks fixed almost, I also was grasping how they pick up the puck and receive it, not so much at online modes I wasn't paying attention too, I always watch it in slow speed to see which modes make come back, sorry for the misunderstanding, I was studying player picks ups and dangling and stuff. I wasn't showing favoritism to anything. I wanted to see if they fixed puck picks ups and player motion with the puck.

another thing, I was Looking for was the Time of Attack, I saw 5 Minutes and 22 minutes for one side, nice right?

They need to fire everyone, take a full year off and start over from first principles

Another year of NHL Legacy PS3 (emulated) for me

I had no idea I'd be playing that game for a decade, but it sure looks like I will be!

I will admit, I am the BIGGEST complainer when it comes to hockey games (trust me, I used to grill the 2K devs too back in the 2khockey.net days! ), but let's wait and see how the game actually is before we pass judgement.

If the game is regurgitated dog kibble, I will be 1st in line to shout it from the rooftops. But until Oct 14th, no one can say jack. No, not even with the tech demo, which will likely be NHL 22 code with some "23" features and tech to get them data on how the game performs under "human" duress.

                Re: NHL 23 Trailer

Well, I mean, in their trailer they had dudes stumbling and swiping at pucks while doing so and the goalie was like, ya, here ya go. My glove hand just doesn't work anymore so let it doink off the cuff and plop into the net.

My favorite part is, that when they announced Zegras as the cover boy, my first reaction is, they're going to do the stupid flip the puck over the net thing and be like OMGzzz! It was THE. LAST. THING. in the trailer, it's clearly the coolest thing that they think they did and it was thrown in there like, ooh look at us.

I think that's what bothers me the most, they don't even try to hide their strategy of EASHL/HUT over everything, damn the rest of the game, the AI and whatever else, it just doesn't matter.

What they need is someone like John Madden from Football being like, hey, if I lend my name to this game, it can't be trash pond hockey, it's called NHL, make it an NHL game that's worthy of the league. If you want a pond hockey game, go make that, but leave the license out of it.

Just by watching the trailer it's obvious that it will be another rehashed pile of ****. You can see where the focus is in the trailer. This game is distancing itself from NHL hockey every single year.

Another year I'm not buying. I probably bought my last NHL game (5 or 6 years ago), i'm no longer their target audience.

Puck goes through the goalie's glove.
They can't even make a trailer glitch free.

                      Re: NHL 23 Trailer

Trailers are pointless anymore. Useless over-produced nonsense.

The game probably won't feel like this but if it is as big of a UI mess as the design on this ad was, it could be unpleasant. 22 after several months I was finally able to get to a point where it plays fantastic. Of course, for me. Challenging, fun, realistic stats for me being a Season only player. As long as 23 on PS4 is the same, I'll be happy. Although, with roster share, if anyone does a good 2022 start of season roster, I'd be hard pressed to buy 23 unless it had some major roster or new leagues development or more options in franchise and season modes.

It goes under the glove, but it's a dumb controversy either way.

I feel your pain, brother. But you have to realize that these kind of teaser/trailers aren't made for us. They're made for Little Timmy who's going to borrow mom's credit card and buy thousands of dollars worth of PAX for HUT so he can get a "sycc" Matthews or McJesus pull and then abuse the glitch "diving shot goal" or behind the net Michigan Flip Pass every chance he gets.

Hockey gets relegated further and further down the priority list every year. And with the same exact team in place that makes the game, it's just gonna keep getting worse.

Oh well... I'll give it a fair shot. I always do.

Just to give you some perspective, I got NHL 22 in November last year. I played it maybe 2 weeks. Uninstalled it from my X/S. I re-installed it in December when the big gameplay update happened, tried to give it a chance for 3 days before removing it again. Then I re-re-installed in Feb (or was it March?), played it one weekend. Gone by Monday. And finally I installed it ONE. MORE. TIME. last weekend so I can be "prepared" for the Tech Demo. Played 2 or 3 games Friday... Played another handful on Saturday... Nope.

That trailer was an ADHD special that looked like it was thrown together by some millennial majoring in Mass Communications at a community college, who was pulling a Red Bull-fueled all-nighter to finish a project the day before it was due, and was trying to cover their lack of technical know-how with a paper-over pastel pastiche.

What the flying Fessenbender did I just watch?!
