    Re: True Broadcast Camera

    Re: True Broadcast Camera

Removal of True Broadcast is an absolute slap in the face to those of us who enjoyed making the game come across as close as possible to what we see on tv every night. With every arena having slightly different camera placements, you had the feeling of each team's arena being somewhat unique.

I just don't understand why they had to remove it? It wasn't causing any problems with the game (i.e. causing the game to freeze or crash, etc...), so why remove it?

After getting rid of the NBC package that included video of outside the arena, the "live" video of Doc and Eddie talking about the upcoming matchup before each game, and removing the full presentation mode, it's safe to say the simulation experience is dead in EA's NHL franchise.

      Re: True Broadcast Camera

I don’t personally use this camera, but sometimes I would look at a CPU vs CPU game just to adjust my sliders and for people that enjoyed the game this way… And I enjoyed myself at the same time 😀

It’s not that the "new" True Broadcast camera is bad, cause it zooms in pretty nicely when in the O zones…

The thing that is baffling, is that they should have just added this "NEW" other "SKY" camera that the game has already plenty of, and NOT removed a camera that lots of people loved obviously…. Makes no sense at ALL !!! Again…

I feel for the people being upset over this, I really do 😟

        Re: True Broadcast Camera

I actually like this camera a lot but they in no way should have removed the original true broadcast view. People that asked for change I think maybe meant to pull the camera back a touch to make more or the ice viewable.

            Re: True Broadcast Camera

I like the change from a playability standpoint. I guess they probably should’ve changed the normal broadcast camera rather than the “true” one to satisfy everyone, but I genuinely find the new true angle to be an actual playable angle. If I ever move my league to 23, could seriously see myself playing on this angle.

              True Broadcast Camera

Why not just add “nosebleeds” or whatever to the camera options? Why remove True Broadcast? True Broadcast could have been improved by altering how it performed in the corners at some arenas; to just ditch it is preposterous imo. Booo. Hisss. Awful.
              Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

                Re: True Broadcast Camera

It really is a shame that EA decided to remove the True Broadcast camera. This clip is an excellent example of how great the game can look and play when using True Broadcast. There's nothing fancy or overtly spectacular about the play, it's just sound, fundamental hockey that you see every night on a real NHL broadcast. I love how the camera is just close enough that you can see the play develop, but not so close that you're only focused in on one or two players. And not so far away (like the current camera for True Broadcast is) that it looks like a bunch of ants attacking a piece of bread.

I really hope they reconsider this disastrous decision and bring back the real True Broadcast camera, if not this year then definitely for next year's game.
