will obvious bugs be fixed that were in NHL 23....

      For example:
      1) seeing users lines before faceoff so you know your teams energy level. (not just the AI's side)

      2) Before release will there be any testing by EA to ensure a major bug free product. (small glitches are somewhat normal to patch, but major bugs are major flaws of poor product development, coding carelessness and poor testing stanadards).

On 2 this just seems to be th way with software now. It used to be that you'd only get a patch if it was a major thing but now they deeply patches almost weekly.

I know what I am doing if goalies do in fact get fatigued easily, I am putting most of my points on endurance and durability, I did notice in NHL 23 players and goalies weren't getting as tired easily, I literally had to put fatigue effect to 100 and fatigue recovery to 4-8, franchise and be a pro are much different, the franchise you can use higher up settings and be a pro u need to use lower fatigue recovery to make 4 line play, to make second and third and fourth line play 7-12 minutes, am using like ten minute periods, so... NHL 24 might just benefit me a lot, cause I know the system so well now.

The question is will NHL 24 let you use Human and CPU sliders work or will be just CPU Sliders that will just work, in NHL 23 I think I figured out it was just CPU sliders that worked in all-star full sim mode.

it seems like for both All-Star and SuperStar, you need to just use CPU sliders and put all of Human Sliders down to 0, to be a pro, not sure about the franchise. never tried the concept in a franchise before.

            Thanks Chase for doing this…

Maybe it’s too late, but mine is not really a question, but a request to them…

Can they PLEASE treat ONLINE and OFFLINE as a SEPARATE entity ? How many times an "online" patch/request by HUT and CHEL players, screwed up the OFFLINE portion of the game ? Way too many times is my answer !

For Slider/Roster makers this is a nightmare…. I still wake up in the middle of the night being scared of a patch/update 😮😳

            Thanks !

Also they finally did address Online Franchise/GM Connected for those that care. It’s not in for 24 because they want to totally redo it, but they are trying to get it back in at some point. It makes sense because as fun as GM Connected could’ve been, the UI and scheduling were absolutely brutal and the reason why most people stopped playing it to begin with.

Plus with needing to code it into the new game will take awhile I’d assume since it’s a brand new mode they are adding. Glad to see they addressed it for the part of the games players that have been asking for it to show it’s not totally gone on deaf ears.
This is really encouraging to hear. NHL Hitz Pro is easily a top-5 hockey game of all-time no matter what style of game you’re looking for. It’s a top 5 arcade hockey and it’s a top 5 sim hockey game, I’m dead serious lol.

With the right sliders, that game plays as good of a 5-on-5 game of hockey as any, and by default was a ton of fun. Notable issues are a lack of on-the-fly line changes and a relatively predictable in-zone experience that honestly isn’t much worse than any modern EA in-zone experience.

If he was a notable player on the Hitz Pro team than this is a huge upgrade because that game seriously was such a good “simcade” that could go either way thanks to its great slider set. I’m cautiously optimistic about the future of this series for the first time in awhile.

PK's post made me think of a question.

Will we be able to select any previous tuners?

Or is the same limitation of v1.0 and latest?

EA acknowledged that gameplay was not the best and they are working on fixing that. New guys workign on it this time around so there is some hope that there will be a different feel to it.

I am most interested in learning more about:
                    I. Presentation: what has been done? i.e. new cut scenes between periods? new
before/after game scenes? Stadium atmosphere authenticity?

                    **Presentation needs such an overhaul.

II. Gameplay: better differentiation of players based on talent/skill level?

                    III. Franchise: any enhancements?

IV. Other: Pheonix Coyotes Mullet Arena in the game?
Reverse Retros in the game (with Adidas out)?
                    Real NHL coaches?
Def agree some of the stadiums are out of date. You wont see mullet arena due to licensing issues. RR should still be in since Adidas is still in this year. Real Coaches would cost EA more money as a license and don't want to pay that. I think a better fit around that would be the ability to edit coaches.

BAP - will coach call me over mid-game (1st game of rookie season) and tell me to score the game winner. If that doesn't change it's already a no for me. It's so dumb and makes zero sense.

Another presentation question, will we have more replays like we used to? I ask for two reasons. First, replays add to the overall feel of a true NHL broadcast. Second, replays allow time for manual line changes. As it stands right now unless a goal is scored there are no replays on any other stoppage of play and the game immediately jumps to the ensuing face-off, leaving us little to no time to pick our line combinations.

I've come to believe that it won't matter who the programmers are.
Reading comments in the Madden, Fifa and even the old Live boards, you see a pattern.
In all of the above, the CPU gets boosts and all your players feel like scrubs.
It's because EA has no interest in spending money on making good AI.
They make sure the games look and sound pretty and then load them with online features.
To make the games challenging, they give the AI boosts.

I hope I'm wrong, but I stopped buying this game years ago because I just couldn't stomach controlling a prime Datsyuk and feeling like he was an 18-wheeler slogging thru mud while the CPU controlled Stu Grimson was darting around like a 19YO Conor McDavid.

I've read your thread and slider recommendations. Really great stuff.
My issue is that you have to use position-lock. And the reason you have to use that is because the CPU reacts a lot differently to a fellow CPU carrying the puck compared to the user.
When you're controlling the puck, the CPU attacks you like you owe it money.
The CPU also gets boosts so you lose a majority of puck battles regardless of the ratings for you vs the CPU controlled player.
But with player-lock, when your CPU teammate has the puck, the AI treats them with kid gloves. They also don't have any advantages.

I just want a game where if I'm controlling McDavid, Matthews, Makar, they actually feel like those players and like you have an advantage based on their ratings.

The last version I owned, I played a lot more CHL games because the boosts and cheats weren't as prevalent. When controlling one of the stars, I could feel the advantage I had over some of the crappier junior players around me.
IMO, this is the same balance that should exist when playing as an NHL team.
