The SOG were more like Real stats but the hitting totals were still out of this world…

I’m looking at a 20 to 25 hits per team to be a good range…
I think they need to give an option for pressure system and the bar under the players. I really enjoy it since it makes the game more challenging/rewarding to me though. Hits I’m sure you can get down with sliders.

The one part of this game that is absolutely brutal is the menus. The WOC menu is an absolute disaster. Also I think there is a huge glitch because the player details don’t update across all of your player types (pro, casual, goalie). It also makes you update everything for home, away, and alternate without letting you clone. I hope they fix that because it’s so annoying to do everything separately.

The pressure system is broken for an offline guy like me…. You just have to keep the puck a few seconds and the other team becomes zombies in their zone, incapacitated at an ugly rate 😣

As far as the bar, I don’t have that ugly problem since I remove the player indicator altogether… But I agree, it doesn’t look good at all.

As far as hits goes, I tried 2 games last night with both Hitting power and Hiiting assistance at 0 and the results were the same… Something is definitely OFF with the HITS detection… The last few years it was the other way around, you had to pummel an opponent for it to count as one.

I’ll type of some thoughts once we get the patch on Friday. See how that goes!

Bunch of options missing in the settings menus.

Also, like mentioned, no Arcade, Traditional, Competitive, and Simulation slider sets. Yet the default sliders actually seem to be the “Traditional” ones.

No way that was the case in the beta!

But I’ve played 2 HUT Rivals Games, 2 Online Versus Games, and 22 EASHL Games with my Club.

Lets see how this plays out Friday.. Until then I’ll zip it. lol

Yeah, I am not even attempting to begin a Franchise as I am strictly an offline player. I hate the controls, and can't get by that at this point. I am not a skill stick guy and the total control is even worse... I have played some CHEL for the first time in 4 years just to get games in, but already bored with that. Drop-ins, you are at the mercy of how well the other guys play or wants to play. I have had some luck, but after 20 games, I am 8-12-0 averaging a point per game, mostly assists (4 G's 16 A's) as a dman man. I only pick dman man so I can at least help out on the back end, but have been grouped with players that I think are like me, just getting games in for the sake of getting them in until the Hybrid Controls are added, I see a lot of mistakes and errant shots (or lack thereof). I pick dman just so I only have to hit one button to pass if it comes to me...

Just overall frustrated at this point. I want to play this game, but as it is now, can't because it isn't enjoyable... So I will continue to tweak rosters and post another version of Franchise ready this evening. I have spent about 12 hours ensuring everyone is in the game, moving retirees and adjusting attributes, but have another 12 hours or more of taking a look at all players and adjust where needed. So I paid $100 bucks for early access to just adjust rosters at this point because I see no point going back into to CHEL...
If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.

Initial after an hour or so… game is fast but sliders fix it. Saw quite a bit own goals off skates go in. I like the new hitting system using buttons, super rewarding when you land a hit. Defenders attack a lot more. The new pressure system isn’t as annoying as some say on the ice. Noticed a lot more penalties called mostly because of the new controls, big risk/reward. I played 22,23 a lot so this doesn’t feel that much different even with all the changes.

Ok same. I found when I messed with the sliders it got easy again. But when I put it on the default but made Attribute slider 10 and AI difficulty 6, it was more challenging to cycle. You still have moments of dominating, but the AI has theirs too. Maybe try that out and see if it works for you.

The pressure system is just annoying, it doesnt resemble real hockey to be honest. Your team will skate like sloths, then the 30 seconds of full preasure is up, they become nhl players again. Not very smart design.

It's also way too easy to activate full pressure and the gameflow then becomes a chore to avoid or to activate full pressure. Online play will be filled with players taking shot practice to activate this gimmick.

Full pressure should happen once or twice a game. Im playing with nerfed shot accuracy sliders, near 0 hit sliders, still happens too much. It's for me a big time nuisance and immersion killer.

Its a shame if they dont give us the option to tune this via sliders or at least they patch it somehow because the rest of the game is good. Just the improved dmen play in the off zone is worth the price of admission if this pressure system could be tuned.

Btw, does anyone know if this pressure system on 1.001 has been tuned already??

This game is definitely better than expected. I feel like I’ve seen the AI do some things defensively against me that I haven’t seen, harder to generate good shots.

However, like NHL 23 this game has absolutely no “glide” in it making everything move like a field sport. This one of the big reasons I keep going back to NHL 22. There’s simply no glide. It’s I’m moving or I’m stopped, no in between. Makes the flow of the game in loose puck and transition moments seem super clunky and unfun. Also, the lack of LT is really bad for offline players who have always managed to properly mitigate the abuse via the in-game sliders. I now can’t do the “kaprizov” to open my hips/chest to change my skating angle briefly to setup a defender or make a passing angle easier. It’s sorely missed and the skating now feels like someone who has never skated before has designed it. Bummer for sure.

I think everyone has hit in the specifics of what is good/not good, but to offer a general option on the state of the series, this game is like Madden 20 or 21. Those years where you could tell they were going in the right direction slowly, but that it’ll be years before the polish comes together and makes a “madden 24” splash. Give this series 2-3 years and I think we might actually have a legitimately fun game with more pros then cons.
