Those were the days man, especially on 360/PS3 because of the custom music packs on OS. It was the absolute best. Every horn dead on and some even with the teams real PA announcer timed perfectly to announce the team out. All EA needs to do is bring us exactly what you said and add the national anthem and that's it. Why they have to overdo things with this cheesiness is wild.

This reminds me of some NHL Hitz or that arcade game NHL Open Ice.

The funny thing about Hitz 20-03 is that in its presentation, it had starting lineups and players coming onto the ice.

Haha that is very true. I forgot about that. I probably didn't word it very well but I was more so meaning that I get a feeling I'm going to play NHL Hitz or some arcade game than what is a partial simulation of hockey.

That's actually the intro when you launch the game. We're talking about pregame intros so not the same thing at all.

NHL Hitz Pro had better gameplay than a lot of hockey games. With the right sliders, you could get a solid sim (with the hitting gimmicks since you couldn’t turn those off).

Like someone said earlier, why didn't they release a video to go along with the deep dive? The game is coming out soon. Where is the Infinite Camera System videos? Is that all we are going to see with the Grudge Match? An opening cinematic with a quick overlay of which team has more wins in the last 5 games? So arcadey and it's turning me off big time!

I'm expecting another letdown by EA Sports. Sigh...

EA Play has helped me save money on the NHL games the last few years. Got 10 hours to test it out and pass. Last one I purchased was 21. Hopeful for this year, but will make sure to use my 10 hours before purchasing.

Yeah EA play is great. We can't trust EA to put out a quality game, or at least a game that people like us here on OS think is good.
I like that if I decide to buy the game there is even a 10% discount with EA play so I basically get the money back.

I plan to get EA play before FC and for 1 month sub covers FC and NHL so that's a bonus.

I don't hate it but it's not what I'm looking for for presentation. As said earlier the grudge match stuff is probably best for stat boxes during the game introduction. If this replaces game intros where players go on the ice/warm up, that would piss me off a lot.

I had thought about how nice it would be if EA had mods/DLC that allowed players to pick which broadcast/network graphics to use instead of EA's faux-NBC/ESPN/whatever they're doing now presentation. It'd be cool to have the NHL on Fox/classic ESPN/even local network score bugs and graphics instead of the frankly ugly in-game overlays and stuff they have now. But this is EA we're talking about.

1. How hard is it to really replicate what we see on tv?? From Teams skating on ice, Showing goalies and stats, Nice replays, halfway decent overlays, crowd sounds, and end of game wrap up.

2. I'm really sick of seeing most sports games have some sort of resemblance to a broadcast but NHL series have arcade style gimmicks... The presentation of this game is so arcady like it's not even funny.

PS- Any word on any BAP upgrades this year?

Figure I'll post this snippet here.

I reached out to Inglehart on twitter asking if the sliders resetting would be fixed for NHL 25. He sent me a DM and mentioned he was unaware of anything of that nature and asked me to send him some info on it. I sent him a 45 second video showing it to him in action. He mentioned he will take this in to the team and look into it. Hopefully if the issue wasn't fixed by randomness at least it's possible we see a fix for it in a patch at some point.
