Anyone else having random 4 forwards during OTF line changes?

So many times I've noticed a forward changed for one of my Dmen.

Guessing it's a BUG.

I’ll preface by saying I haven’t actually played 25.

I have watched a lot of YouTube gameplay and I like it. It looks smooth and the player movements are more lifelike than even ever. The new franchise hub is a nice QOL change and the NHL series has had the 2nd best franchise mode of the AAA titles for a while now.

Then somebody scores and it’s the “Fortnite” presentation again. I just can’t get past that.

It usually happens after a penalty (either PP or PK). There were similar issues last year if the penalized player or forward playing D’s line came up, but this is impacting every line at random it seems this year. Def a bug.

This is happening for me 5v5 only and during a long time between whistles where I get 3-4 changes at some point it could be I had auto-changes, and I still do some manual changes. So could be glitching it out. Gonna try manual only.

I always have MANUAL changes and this happens once in awhile. I could be switching to have my 2nd line RW and then my 3rd line center is on the ice with my 4th line LW 😮

Doesn’t happen often, but sometimes it’s messed up. EA needs to be aware of this.

I'm a CPU vs CPU "player", although I'll actually play the game whenever I decide to do Be a Pro (although I really haven't since they took out full CHL seasons). So far, it's leaps and bounds better than NHL 24. But still not as good as NHL 23, where I was able to get a perfect realistic slider set working.

My only big gripe is the hit totals are a bit insane, even with aggression and hit power at 0. Still getting 50+ for each team every game, at 8 minute periods.

I do like that we get to view the box scores of other games, although you can tell the penalties are totally randomized which is too bad. I saw Evander Kane get a major for hooking, as an example. And the fighting in the box scores are unrealistic. Like Matt Rempe fighting Rasmus Dahlin.

Also a little upsetting that the CPU teams still don't call up players due to injuries until they're absolutely forced to (No healthy players left). If a D is injured and they have no D as extras, they'll just put a forward in his place. That's annoying. There's always been a fix (trading a 7th round pick for a 7th round pick with the team will auto-fix their roster and they'll call someone up), but it's tedious and we shouldn't have to do that. Plus I'm pretty sure it screws up the trading system through the season (CPU teams won't make trades because I'm making a bunch of 7th round pick trades)

I have manual as well and it still happens. Like i said it usually happens after a penalty, but I have seen it at 5v5 and I just cycle the lines again and it usually gets resolved. Still annoying and it happens at random.

Have liked most games in this series but dropped 23 when they patched out True Broadcast (wtf) then skipped 24 bc of the Fortnite goal celebrations.

Like what I’m seeing here (minus the Fortnite celebrations).

Making this post bc I have a huge gripe with the Red Wings sweaters. Names on the back look like stencil. Horrible.

Otherwise, like I said, I like what I see here.

Yea I hate the goal celebrations. For online, HUT, Chel, sure whatever. They fit those modes. But Franchise? Reaves scores for Toronto to make it 7-1 Devils and he does a dab to the camera. Dumb and annoying.

I laugh at some of those celebrations, cause in real life you celly like that, other team comes and checks you, or like do slap shot into empty net when games ending, I chucked at that, it was so funny someone did a comedic video of it, what not to do in hockey to draw crowd to you after celebration like that. XD

IGN just gave this game a 6/10. The reviews out there have been pretty average.

It's time more people boycotted EA NHL. It does not represent NHL hockey. This series needs a major overhaul, starting with the gameplay.

I don't put much faith or value in any of IGN's reviews, especially their sports reviews. I played the 10 hours on EA play, enjoyed it, bought it and am having fun with it. That's all that matters to me. To each their own.

And what was the reviewer major gripes ?

For me NHL 25 is the best NHL to come out for a very long time. Yes it does represent NHL hockey and the gameplay with the right settings is at its prime right now.

They praised franchise mode and moaned about the other modes, but I never care about reviews anyway.

I'm loving NHL25.

I am all in with NHL 25. I play every game and I will be done with Year 1 before Christmas.

Incredibly fun game.
