My trial is almost over 😢 and a few questions.

It’s HOCKEY FEVER TIME !

For people that know me around here, I didn’t buy NHL24 because I thought it was a hot mess. First time I didn’t buy an NHL edition since NHL93 ! Even downloaded it when it was free on Gamepass and couldn’t stomach it…

Now I’m on the fence after trying NHL25 and really digging it. Lots of things I love, things I’m on the fence and still some head scratchers for me for a hockey game.

I’m really contemplating buying it FULL PRICE 😮

Now a few questions:

1) If I buy it now, can I play it or do I have to wait until OCT 04 ?

2) Am I the only one that there’s NO VIBRATION on my series X controller ? All other games works fine, NHL25, NOPE… Maybe that’s why I find the skating to be off a bit.

3) Thank god now they added the option to remove the pressure gauge from the ice. Can you also remove the passing icons when you hold down the passing button ? Also they added target icons for one timers that I can’t seem to remove… Really EA ?

4) Played a few games with the original gameplay tuner and a few with the 'LATEST'. Anyone know what are the main changes ? Or they went full EA and didn’t say what the latest tuner did ?

5) The dumping/clearing of the puck is still broken !!! Loved NHL23 for this. Something I’m not aware of ? I’m pressing the wrong button ? I’m using skill stick BTW.

I am also curious what the latest tuner update did. Someone on the impressions thread said it made gameplay feel more organic but I don't think anyone else has mentioned it. I don't have early access or trial myself so I can't say.

1) even if you buy now, u still have to wait for oct 4.

2) vibration on PS5 i didnt even pay attention, cant answer your xbox . Did u switch systems? That sux for me, cant get your rosters again.

3) passing icon only appears if you hold down for a long time, it is not how it was in nhl 24 release. They patxhed this mid cycle last yr.

4) I also preferred with latest, no notes as far as i know.

5) dumps are better , cpu uses hard dumps more, and the weak dump is also a little bit stronger. You just have to preload for a longer time. Its not back to nhl 23 level, but better than 24 imo.

Btw what do you like about nhl 25? Would like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for answering my questions. I always had an XBOX BTW, you had your roster from my good friend GTPO that mirrored what I did on the X side 😀 Still don’t know why, when EA introduce something on screen, they don’t add the option to remove it 🤔

I disappeared after the release of 24 and I think you know why, lol ! But yeah, the version we did with 23 was IMO way better than 24 and I kept playing that when I had the urge to play NHL.

Here are on top of my head the things I LOVED in that trial, won’t focus on the negatives for now. I had a couple in my questions anyway 😉

- The crowds and the ambiance in 25 is way up there.

- The OOTB gameplay in general (with custom sliders of course) is very good compared to other releases.

- The new score clock on top left with shot counter.

- The 23 skating is kinda back where the vision control works way better than 24.

- The new skating animations. Love it when the player side steps an incoming player instead of going directly into the guy… Also when a player has to retrieve back in the play and you can see him trying to gain his balance back to do so.

- The replays with the new camera angles are awesome to say the least.

- The fatigue slider REALLY WORKS in 25. When fatigue player is at 100, don’t spend more than 50 seconds on the ice or else you’ll pay for it. I had to set my recovery speed at something like 60 instead of 18 in 23 😮😀

If EA doesn’t screw up the gameplay like they tend to do when the HUT players complain, we might have something very good to work with, with 25 😀

You can play now if you buy the deluxe edition. But it’s $30 more, which is ridiculous.

I woudnt buy it, there isnt too much changed. I think ur fine with NHL 23. Lane hutson will be in the Game, but that U can create by yourself.

Yeah, I’ll stick with my version of 23 I think… I got a bit over excited with the new coat of paint 😮

I don’t wanna go through all these hours of modifying rosters just so the game plays the way I want it to…
