Vibe Check NHL 25 Offline Season

    My goodness---its good to be back---well, I hope so....but hey, its EA...lol
Greetings from the UK---Long Time Old Fart/Offline Season nerd (and have the divorces to prove it)
Wondering if you older guys---PK076, Armour&Sword, ElTito and co can fill me in on some "very Johnny specifics" (of course I welcome all users though)

I always play with what I call "reduced attribute rosters" (I always felt the game played better when the player attributes were lowered (actually I left the Superstars , but cranked up the D/A on the better D Men etc, but takes bloody ages)--so before I embark on a 3 month Roster Edit Marathon---WHATS THE GAME LIKE FOR US OLDER OFFLINE PLAYERS?

*I am hearing mixed reviews about the NHL25 vs NH24 AI ?
(in your opinion--with slider adjustments, is it better?, can it be made better?)

    * Is there anything that`s gone backwards?--I am hearing its heavy on One Timers, and the D dont poke check?---Is this very noticeable, and can it be improved via sliders?

*Who is right? Swayman or the Bruins?

    Thanks all in advance.
    With best wishes
    Johnny

Game is definitely tougher in 25. Harder to maintain puck control and AI defense is very aggressive. Goalie play is much better although still far from perfect. Overall if 24 was 7/10 then this year is 7.5/10. Updates to franchise make it easier to navigate and get more into it

      Hello Dallas Rocks!
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply----its been difficult to get a steady "offline players perspective", as so many on videos on YT focus on the Online aspect, which presents a whole different sum of issues.

Do you happen to know if theres any difference to the Season Mode interface?
      With regards
      JD

Hey you bloody old chap ! Hope all is well with you in the UK…

You know what Johnny, NHL 25 for an OFFLINE player like me is a go to buy right now. As per usual with the right sliders, the game is in another category for it at a launch date than its ever been IMO.

In 23, we had to do a major overhaul to the players attributes to make the game play the way we wanted it. Remember what we had to do to make the DMen not play like zombies ?

I’m talking about a guy that likes to ONLY play my games OFFLINE and is a freak for a hockey game that plays like a HOCKEY game, you know 😉 Yes there are small issues, especially with the special units, but the game makes up for it IMO.

Just download the trial and see for yourself. I think you gonna like it 😀

Oh that is good news....and great to see you!
My goodness with NHL23/24 we have put some work in eh.....LOL
So when you talk about the "special units"--I that something that can be improved via the Strategy tabs?
How big of an issue is it?

They made some nice improvements to franchise mode!

Conversation system, trade clauses on contracts, setting short term and long term goals, stat goals, award goals, position change conversations.

Free agency conversations to woo players to your team.

All new hub, box scores around the league.

Dynamic Grudge Match system (will report balc on this as I am very early into Panthers Year 1).

Gameplay for my money was improved. I was a big fan of 19 and 23 for context.

I love this game!!! Easily my favorite right now.

Gotta say I'm loving this game.. I've not played nhl In so long now... Probably 10 years. Not started a franchise yet don't know if to wait for roster updates. Get the trial if you can... I did then bought it! Greetings from the UK also!
