Active roster new to the game

How do you get the active roster in franchise? Any help with this would be much appreciated

Make sure the latest roster is set to the active roster, then start your franchise.

If you already started a franchise, there is no way to get the latest roster into your franchise.

When you start a franchise or season does the roster update or are we all still responsible for getting the right players on all the teams.
Franchise is more than likely different than season. I usually always play season mode control all the teams to have control on the rosters

I do and every time I start franchise it goes back to the original roster in franchise. I must be doing something wrong.

I'll test it out post opening day roster update.. shouldn't be too long.

A week to 10 days typically, I believe last year the first roster update was on 10/17/23.

I just don’t get it. I play with the blues and Krug is not even on active roster and then when I start a franchise he is on the blues and sutter is in F/A. Just frustrated

It could also be a bad roster that you downloaded. Since Krug is on LTIR and franchise forces krug to the roster and depending on how they have it set up they maybe over the max contracts and force suter out.

That’s because he’s injured in real life so they either scratch him or put him on the Blues AHL squad in the roster for play now. He’s still under contract with the Blues and a highly rated player, so when you start franchise, it automatically moves him up to the Blues since current injuries don’t exist at the start of a Franchise in NHL and everyone is healthy.

Only way is to go in and check how many contracts the Blues have. If it’s at 50 and you don’t see Suter in the system/contracts, it means he was probably auto-released (that usually doesn’t happen). You can edit his contract to be worth $0 for 0 years and it will list him as unsigned in Franchise.
