I think it just all comes down to sliders. Like I said, I play position lock and love playing that way. So maybe I see more "variety" because my teammates are CPU controlled, so it's more exciting to see Kane do a slapper from the blue, or Toews pull off his drag move and score.

The goalies are killing me though. I might adjust them all to Stand Up because they drop too much...even on hybrid.

For scoring from the blue line, adjust your SHA and SHP sliders...I have my SHA at about 5 and SHP at 3. Some games I see 6 goals, others it's 2-1... but the SHP should help with scoring from farther out.

I'm 3-1-0 so far, two of which were come from behind to tie it in the 3rd and putting home the overtime winner. As for goal variety, like Fiddy I see plenty of it, goals from the point be it deflections, screens, or clean 5 hole/top shelf, goals from the slot, goals from outside the faceoff dot that beat an unscreened goalie clean up high, rebound garbage goals.

I wonder myself if they actually did do a bit of behind the scenes tweaking with the roster update as well as 3 of the 4 games were of the 4-3, 5-4 type of variety of teams just trading goals (mostly due to me slagging off on defense when I have a big lead) I've only had one game where I couldn't put the puck into the twine more than once and that so far was my only loss. I really didn't have much issues pre roster scoring, but post roster so far it feels even easier in some respects.

Personally I don't see much difference online. Does anyone notice a greater variety of non cheese goals going in???

I think you might be right...with the new roster it seems easier to score goals on superstar.
I just won a 6-5 game (with Nashville) ...and I don't think I've ever scored more the 4 in a game before.

Maybe it's placebo, but I'm really enjoying this game online again. I'm still having my share of 1-0 games, but scoring seems to have really opened up the rest of the time. I don't know if it's me adjusting my style, or if something's going on under the hood, but I'm actually happy with the game again (online, anyway).

I wouldn't know whether the roster update has affected gameplay.......everytime I try and do the update I get a message saying "unable to connect to ea servers, please try again later". Been getting this message since Friday and can't do the update.

So if the game plays better with the roster updates does that mean I need to start my dynasty over again ??

If you can't get that to work (I did on the 15th), start a game in one of the online modes and you will prompted to download the roster. You can then save it to your hard drive for offline use...

And Fiddy says that there is a new update with Sundin on the Canucks for those that don't know yet...

Getting the same thing if I went directly to the roster update tab. Just go directly into a unranked online game and it will download roster before the game starts then back out of game.
