    Yes it is.

I forgot to ask the Blues fans this, so figured I'd throw it out here: Is the ownership group still sticking by its playoff guarantee? I remember reading before the season that season tickets holders would get a refund if the Blues didn't make the playoffs.

OK, sorry to steer off the course. I've got some time tomorrow before work and I'm determined to get a couple of games in.

So I'm the ottawa senators. 3 of my last 5 games were won on the game winning goals with under 5 sec left in the third period. I'm 12-1-0. And what I think is important is we win the close games. 8-0 in games that are decided by 1 goal.

        Good stuff, QB.
I was playing offline a lot more in January, but my EASHL team suddenly started playing again. If I used all my gaming time for BAGM, I could knock out a couple games a night.

I was hoping to at least complete a season before The Show comes out, but it's looking unlikely at this point. And once the NHL playoffs start, I do a real-matchup all-user playoffs of my own... so yeah, I'm not exactly on my way to legend GM status.

Well, the deal that you are refering to isn't nearly as risky as it sounds.

It was only available for a small portion of the seats and the only part the buyer of the seats gets off the hook on if the Blues don't make it, is the 2nd half of the payment.

They used the deal to sell the remainder of the tickets that they were having a tough time moving, so in reality...even if the Blues do not make the playoffs, they still make more money than they would have.

It'd be nice to get our crap together and make the playoffs, now that the only injured player is Perron. We have no excuses not to make a run at it.

            Re: BAGM Progress Thread

So, i finally got my Blues up to 41 wins by the last week of the season. With 4 games left we clinched a playoff spot, and took the #7 seed.
The Blues went into the playoffs against #8 Nashville, with Alex Radulov looking to beat his former team and go on to round 2.
The Blues won the first game 7-4, but suffered a blow when they lost one of their starting forwards in David Backes who suffered a broken leg when he was hit with a shot from the point by Pietrangelo. He's going to be out for 8-10 weeks, and will sadly miss the rest of the playoffs.
Sabotka filled in at the #1 spot, with Hensick getting called up from Peoria to take over on the 3rd line. Sabotka played to the left of Spezza who was picked up in a trade for Eric Brewer and a future pick mid-season. To Spezza's right is Radulov.
Sadly, Sabotka would also be injured in the series, as would Barret Jackman. Both would only miss a week, and the team was boosted with David Perron coming back in the last game of the 4-1 series to help the Blues win 4-3 in a tight game and take the series.
The Blues are now up against the Vancouver Canucks and looking to get revenge for the Playoff Sweep they suffered a few seasons ago.

              Re: BAGM Progress Thread

I was only able to get one game in and lost my 3rd straight (all on the road), 5-3 to the Islanders.

Brandon Yip scored early in the 1st to put the Avs up 1-0, but then I proceeded to give up 3 straight goals before Yip scored again, midway through the 3rd, to cut it to 3-2. Just when it looked like I had momentum on my side, I broke down defensively and Tavares beat Budaj for his third goal of the night, setting off a frenzy in the crowd as hats rained down on the ice.

I pulled Budaj and scored a goal from the point with John-Michael Liles to get it to 4-3 but gave up an empty net goal trying to get the equalizer.

So, I'm at 1-4 on the year. Not a good start. Defensively, I'm terrible, allowing 4 goals a game. Not sure what to do about that, other than just tighten things up. Offensively, I'm getting no production from my No. 2 line (Fleischmann, Stastny, Stewart), and that is disappointing.

Yip has been an early surprise with 3 goals. Matt Duchene has 3 goals and 3 assists and Kevin Shattenkirk has 3 assists to start the season.

Up next is a trip to MSG to take on the Rangers.

                    Re: BAGM Progress Thread

I have went 3-0-1 in my last four after a brutal slide and my Oilers are now 30-28-3 on the season. Just lost an OT heartbreaker to the Flames in Calgary 3-2 that improved them to 36-16-4.

I'm currently hanging by a thread to the 8th spot in the east. Taylor Hall is sitting on 42 goals in his second season in the NHL. I have no goaltending and no quality defencemen other than Gilbert and Ryan Whitney.

Basically over the last 21 I'm going to have to win about 14 or 15 to make the playoffs. It's a log-jam for that 8th spot.

                      Nice!!!

I'm currently 35-19-6 and in the 2nd spot behind San Jose. TJ Oshie just suffered another injury and will be out for 3-4 weeks.

He struggled for just 3 goals and 12 assists in the first 41 games, but had 7 goals and 6 assists in the last 15 games prior to the injury.

                      Just lost to Vancouver, 3-1.

                                Re: BAGM Progress Thread

Since I last posted, I've played a few games. I've advanced my record up to 9-8-3, so at least I've gotten over .500, but there's work to be done.

Kovalchuk is still my leading scorer (20 games, 14 goals, 3 assists), but Parise's starting to catch fire and so is Gagne.

However, my last game was one of the most interesting games that I've played on my Be A GM.

I was @ the Blues and started off strong with a powerplay goal by Simon Gagne on a beautiful feed by Zach Parise. It was 1-0 after the first period so it was quite a slow game, but then all of a sudden the Blues answered with a powerplay goal to open up the second period on a huge rebound from Brodeur. Towards the end of the second period, however, Zach Parise skated down the ice one-on-one, and ripped a wrister past Halak on the short side to make it 2-1 Devils at the end of the 2nd. At this point, I was playing solid defense, and I thought that I would walk out the door with a 2-1 win, but, then with about 2 minutes left, a slow point shot hit off the crossbar and went in past a completely screened Brodeur, and made tied it at 2-2. Then, all of a sudden, there was energy in this game. Everybody on both teams seemed to have overcame their fatigue to play fast and furious towards the end of regulation. And then, with 15.3 seconds left to play, a point shot from Colin White got deflected in by Zach Parise to make it 3-2. BUT, the refs decided to review it, and after looking at the replay, I was almost POSITIVE that his stick was below the crossbar, but it got overturned, and 2-2 we stood going into OT. And then, about half a minute into overtime, Rob Davison committed a penalty, which led to the game-winner, and a final score of 3-2.

What a disappointment... (however, it was still a great game!)
