Re: Interview with the NHL 11 Dev Team
"First and foremost, great gameplay applies to both online and offline play so that’s always the number one priority."
I would like to know what's the standard as great gameplay for offline is?
I would just suggest to the development team to play more than 5 games locked as the goalie offline.
If they are still telling me that this is a great gameplay, I will rest my case!"Ice hockey is a form of disorderly conduct in which the score is kept." - Doug LarsonComment

Re: Interview with the NHL 11 Dev Team
I second that gameplay should be the most important aspect, but I truly feel that NHL 2011 has some terrific gameplay for the most part. There's obviously things I would do to tweak - including more lose puck play and less of the "insta-steals" and teams actually playing like their counterpart - but overall though, NHL 2011 plays pretty solid. There are definitely AI tweaks to be made and physics to be implemented. Not to mention some of the brilliant concepts from the new game mode (can't remember it's name as I never use it) like chemistry and such.
What I really want for NHL is some really improved and dynamic presentation from the commentary to real-time presentation (ala MLB The Show).
Strangely, I feel the exact opposite about Madden and NCAA.Last edited by sirreef; 04-06-2011, 11:52 AM.Comment

Re: Interview with the NHL 11 Dev Team
It's always a bit comforting to hear them mention about off-line gaming still being important to them.
I've dabbled around a little with on-line play with NHL...and it is fun. And all that's there seems pretty impressive. But for me, I just really prefer to just kick back at my own leisure and play franchise mode. I get a kick outta playing in my own little world of NHL.
I'm really looking forward to hearing the early news of what to expect for '12'.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Likewise Vikes. Online is important these days, but EA should never forget the core mode. It's always a bit comforting to hear them mention about off-line gaming still being important to them.

The bugs that plagued last year's first weeks of release, i.e Superstars being stuck in the AHL, were rather annoying from a single player viewpoint.
I don't have a schedule to commit to an online league, I'm not really interested in building a hockey ultimate team and I don't want to be at the mercy of PSN or XBL dropping out. A solid season of hockey against the CPU is still fine for me.
Rink, uniform and player authenticity, goal variety and a new frontend for GM mode are all I ask for.
Give me that or give me nothing else.
