Probably wishful thinking, but it would be nice for EA to allow for a realignment after this season since it's going to happen in the NHL. Something like the custom conferences in the football game.

Sadly, I cannot really see that happen, at least until the NHL releases the realignment. But..who knows?Comment

When does the demo come out?
Sorry if that's already been discussed, didn't find it when I looked around.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

I'd like this too. Sometimes, I create custom teams to replace other franchises. For example, I created a team in Houston to replace the Islanders, and I'd want them in the pacific division, not the atlantic. And you can't realign any team unless you're patient enough to change all the players properties and change the AHL teams, which is long and not worth it.Comment

Re: The NHL 12 Info Thread
I hope that the "net battles" and running into the goalie create more ugly goals.
One of my gripes with the NHL series is that there are way too many "pretty goals", and the goals that weren't pretty felt glitchy.
I hope there will be some loose pucks in front of goalies, where your players crash the net and jam it home through the goalie. Without the goalie flopping around, where it actually feels like he has a chance to stop it. It would be sick to see the types of goals where the puck is at the goalie's pad where he can't find it, a player takes like four whacks at it, and it finally goes in.
This is probably an extremely difficult part of hockey to re-create in a video game, it would be sweet if they could do it!Last edited by gopher_guy; 08-09-2011, 10:55 AM.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

I'm not trying to compare the two, only that it's possible with a proper physics engine.Comment

On another note, I'll try updating the first post soon. I've been without a solid internet connection for a month and I've been currently using a laptop with a weak-decent wi-fi connection.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. I would hope they at least got some sort of goalie fatigue in this year. Kinda sick of seeing backups never get played.Comment

I think I'm going to jump in the fray and buy this game this year. Have a 50 dollar gift card from Best Buy burning a hole and I can't get rid of it for cash it seems. I have to say, I'm getting pretty excited.Comment

Re: The NHL 12 Info Thread
The "ugly goals" down deep, is a part of the real life game that seems to be for the most part...pretty much missing from the video game. I had my first chance for a dirty goal last night, in like forever...and blew it. I pushed the damn puck wide of a nearly wide open net. Sucked that I missed it. But was nice to have had at least the chance. Hoping for more chances with '12'.1969 NFL ChampionsComment
