That aside it must be something that they didn't use in the gameplay vids if it affects all modes.

I would be very happy if EA implemented this into the game. Sounds like a good time to me. Any word on when they are going to announce this "game-changing, phenomenal, best thing ever" to the world?

I know I may be a minority about this topic, but I pray to god it has nothing to do with online franchise or anything online at all. This game just has way too many other things that need fixing before they continue to add online game modes. The past few years all I did was play online (because of the terrible AI) and it just ruined the game for me. For the first two months I would dominate because I'm actually good at this game and know hockey. Then once many of the cheesers out in the online world figure out the exploits it completely ruins the game. It's not that I don't win anymore either, it's the fact that they make the game so boring and irritating even when I do win. If I knew a lot of people who actually played the game the way it's supposed to, I would probably be on the other side of the fence about online. It is fun, just not when you play cheesers all the time. The worst of it all is no matter what the developers do, people will always try to find the exploits.

Also I really just want to play a solid offline Be a GM. If the offline AI is fixed where every game doesn't feel the same, Be a GM will be much improved. I might actually accomplish playing every game of the 82 game season. As of now the only game I've ever played every game of a season is The Show. I hope that can change this year.

I must admit Bwiggy, I'm also hoping the big announcement isn't about on-line play.


I'm with ya about GM mode, it's nearly all I play. So I'm really hoping that just maybe, the new "Anticipation AI may possibly make a nice difference. Or simply just improvements to the AI that makes the game/games, feel different. That's probably the thing I'm most hoping to hear someone say...that NHL'12' feels like at least somewhat of a different game. I'm still enjoying '11'. But at this point...I'm about ready now for a hockey game that feels, well....new.

I'd love that too, but it's not 'back of the box' material.

I'd bet my last dirty nickel that this mode is online based.
Look at the other EA titles and everything is about EASHL or HUT type modes.

If it's online based, I'm praying it's one of two things:

1. Online Be a GM.
2. Online BAP where you can join a friends BAP career. (THIS would be AWESOME!).

HUT was great in NHL11, best online players too, magic to have a scrub team of prospects battling it out against tougher teams. And the build em up. I hope they build on HUT though so it gets more accesible in the menues and search options etc. HUT reminds me of the old days of NHL95 were you trading like crazy to get a dream team then played against your friends dream team. And due to the fact some players had cards added on player differentials actually were good.

2k's system always sucked. When you get a franchise freeze year in, year out starting with 2k4 on, it tends to disenchant you from liking a product much. Not only that but because no one bought their games, their online was always a ghost town to begin with.

True but I find it funny nobody talks about the freezes in lobbies and ingame in EAs game, which happened alot in NHL09-10 , and still in NHL11. Oh yeah, because it´s easy to hate on 2K...

To be honest? I've had maybe one total freeze in NHL online. Granted I play VERY VERY little online so who knows, that's prolly why. I've always been a franchise guy so when stuff doesn't work there? yeah tends to piss me off more I guess.
