Another freeze, this time while playing a game in BAP.

How can they release a game with this glaring issue?! Pretty embarrassing EA...

yea i got many freezes playing BAP specially if its showing the replay of a penalty and i press "B" so i can skip the replay and whoolaaa.... my game freezes while my 360 still working. all i can do is turnoff my 360 and on again. even my controller is not responding when it freezes.

you know why EA have that pre-release game you can d/l if you pay? because EA is so cheap paying their own Quality Assurance and making their paying customer their tester. I just have to laught it or else you get so frustrated and pissed your whole gaming experience playing their game.

hopefully 2K will step up on the ice or another developer to give us another option for playing NHL. i remember 2k released their 2k3 and blasted out EA for several years. i guess the best way to hit their lazy QA and failure to hear BaGM (IMO) is have their Sales hit below par so they will smarten up like what they did in NHL 07.

I think the freezing thread over at the EA forums have know been stickied. Hopefully that will draw some more heat to the issue.

So does signing onto psn mean the game will be freezing? Cause I've played a few hours and no freeze yet, and I use custom music also. I haven't signed into psn since before i got nhl12, so does this mean that I shouldn't sign on until this problem is fixed?

I don't play that online league or any online mode except HUT. So if I signed onto the ea servers just to download the roster/tuners and then signed off psn,do you think my game would freeze or not,because that's all I really want to sign on to do.

For those that have read several threads/posts...is the freezing as bad on the 360, as it seems to be on PS3?

I'd like to start my GM mode [on 360] but if the freezing is pretty bad there too...I'll just wait then.

Any info is much appreciated.

Remember how I hadn't had any freezing problems? Spoke too soon. Third game of my offline BAP, I hit pause, and it freezes. I was not signed into either the PS network or the EA network.

I didn't have any problems with freezing in NCAA 12, so maybe this is my penalty?

Not trying to sounds disrespectful toward EA, but isn't this something that should have been taken care of by the QA department at EA Canada?

I mean I know that they can't find EVERY bug before release but com'on, I got a freeze on my copy within 15 games.

How come it has become the norm for EA to release games, and let the masses be their free beta testers where they might or might not even fix the problems?

Something it just really wrong with this attitude they have about this IMO.....

The fight freeze from last year is back.
For those who don't know, after a fight if you try and change lines other than the line that was out for the fight the game will go to a cut-scene of the 2 fighters. Once this happens the game will freeze.
I just tested it to see if it was gone. It is not.
So after the fight just start hammering (for PS3 users) the X button to avoid the cut-scene.
Annoying to not be able to change lines after a fight, especially a fight that you won since it gives your lines an energy boost which comes in handy at crucial situations, but if this is the only solution to avoid a freeze then so be it.

With only a calendar year of development, it's nearly impossible for QA to create every single situation and get it done, I'm hardly an EA apologist(look at the NCAA Football forum), but it seems as though this freezing issue isn't that widespread, this is the only forum I frequent that has had >10 complaints about it(though this is the most sports gaming centric, so grain of salt). Myself, over 88 BaP games (83 with the Petes, 5 with the Canucks) have had zero freezes, in two HUT games, 0 freezes. I haven't touched Be A GM yet though.

Also, I'll look around but I'm curious as to how people find this unplayable, it's far from perfect, don't get me wrong there, but it's not like it's horrid.

Actually, I'm pretty impressed that one of the devs from EAC responded as soon as this. I mean...three days after release seems like a very decent response time, imo.

I was under the impression that EA Tiburon was no where near as responsive as this. And like JeremyB said...at least we know their aware of the issue.

My friend just bought a 160 gig PS3 and NHL12. I took it out of the box, updated the software and threw in NHL. We played 4 games of Battle for the Cup. The fifth game locked up in mid play with 25 seconds left in the third.

Not to scare anyone or anything, but EA (different dev team, obviously) took about 2 months to patch NCAA 12, another game with some pretty bad freezing problems.

I don't mean to judge or anything, but 88 BAP games?? Assuming 20 minutes per game or so, that's like 30 hours of play! I wish I had that kind of free time...

I am playing as the Devils and I get the same thing in Season mode. I played the first 2 games and then it freezes in the simulation of off days before I can get to the 3rd game.

I also noticed the Strategy Menu opens on it's own during gameplay.

Load times for saved seasons is really slow compared to NHL 11.

The Upload Settings from NHL 11 did not work, either.

This game should not have been released. I wish I hadn't traded in NHL 11.

That being said, how do I get a patch when they get around to doing it or is it automatic. For that matter, should I just return the game and wait for them to republish? Frustrated.
