Luckily, it's my b-day, so my girlfriend is on her way home with the game right now. I'll fire it up a little later and see how the rest of the off-season plays out. I will say this, the standings and player stats were as good as I've ever seen in an EA NHL game. I took some pics of the stats too, so if anyone wants to see 'em, just ask.
Btw, the GM mode I simulated was on the highest difficulty. Now, more than everComment

Follow up to the BEAGM stuff...
First off, Let me qualify this post by pointing out that I'm not a huge hockey guru. I do have a basic understanding of UFAs and RFAs and how that whole process works, but I really only keep up with my team, Tampa Bay. So I don't necessarily know a glaring roster issue when I see it.
But by all means, if someone can point out any red flags that I should be looking for, I'll be more than happy to check into it.
Also, I really haven't given BEAGM the time of day the last couple of years(mostly because of the terrible simmed stats/standings..), so I'm not exactly up to date on what the big issues have been with the off seasons and the cpu's handling of its roster and free agents.
That being said, after completing a test off-season with a GM mode on the hardest difficulty, things look pretty good on the surface. Mostly older guys with a few younger guys with no AHL or NHL service time(undrafted FAs?) left in the pool toward of the start of the season. And it seems like most teams are offering a reasonable number of contracts/qualifying offers to their respective RFAs.
As far as the Game Informer review that started all of this BEAGM discussion goes, I'm not sure I'm seeing what they were. They mentioned top prospects like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins rotting away in the AHL, but he isn't even in the roster yet... but maybe they were just using him as an example. Either way, I don't know other teams' prospects well enough to say definitively, but it sure doesn't look like there are many higher overall(80+) players in the AHL.
Unless someone brings something to my attention that I haven't yet noticed, I don't think I'm going to have much of an issue with the BEAGM mode this year. With much improved standings, stats, and injuries, it would appear to be passable for my not so lofty standards.
Attributes could definitely use a little diversity, but for now that seems to be a fairly minor issue.Last edited by Jgainsey; 09-13-2011, 10:16 PM.Now, more than everComment

Re: NHL 12 Questions/Answers Thread (360/PS3, NO DISCUSSION)
You could also load that fantasy roster,....then save your profile,IIRC...that should be you`re "default" roster then.
You ALWAYS have to load the roster you want to play with,or when you start a BaGM,BaP,Season mode......
For example,....load "roster 1" ,...setup a BaGM,.....you are now locked into that roster for that BaGM file.
My advice,....if you`re going to do offline roster edits, fantasy team rosters,......make lots of roster files,...keep one file for doing EA roster updates as this will be a "Master Roster",....no edits, just update and copy from this file.Comment

Hey,
in one of the articles I read, you can make you BaP as young as fifteen. If so, can you change his height and weight with further progression or do you have to stick with what you first chose?
Thanks
