    As far as checking goes-

On the opponent's breakout: When I am skating backwards with my D as the opponent is entering my zone, I usually try to line up the opponent's right shoulder with my right shoulder (if they are on the right wall, vice-versa if they are on the left wall), in other words, I position myself off center from the skater in front of me.

When I feel like I'm in good position, and I have other D or forward help covering other opposition streaking for the goal, I slow down and push the right stick up and diagonally into the skater. This works out most of the time for me. Sometimes I get burned, but more often than not I at least slow him down, if not, knock him down completely.

Rather than starting a new thread, can someone please tell me whether NHL 12 shipped with a game manual in the case? I'll be trading this in soon and can't remember whether there was a manual in the case or not.

I've had the game for 3 mos now and I'm still terrible at face offs vs the CPU. I've done the tutorial, but in games, I've only won about 3 or 4 per game!

          Any tips?

Also, I usually see an envelope next to my profile at the end of games. What does it mean?

          Thanks,

            Be A Pro's CPU GM

I have a question about what the hell the CPU GM is doing in my Be A Pro file. I started in the CHL and got drafted by the Devils. I'm entering my second season in the NHL after 2 in the CHL as well. I scored about 80 goals and 80 assists in all three previous seasons. Four games into the second NHL regular season he decides to send me down to the 2nd line despite me scoring 3 goals and 6 assists in these games (I sim the first two periods and always play the third and overtimes and have done so in every season). Irritated by this I look to view the lines and see he has Anton Volchenkov, Jordan Leopold, Tomas Vokoun, and Khabibulin all playing in the AHL and not in the NHL when they are far better than some of the players up there. Also, we have now have a record of 6-2-1 or so and Niittymakii is my main goaltender but is listed as having zero wins and his backup is listed as the team's win leader with only one.

So what the hell is the GM doing keeping such good players on the AHL team, why aren't the wins tallying up, and I'm pretty sure it is because I sim parts of the games but how am I being punished for such good scoring?
