Wait time to join different EASHL team?

I tried to joined a hockey team tonight and I got this message.

"You have just left a club and must wait before joining or creating a new one"

Why do I have to wait and how long?

It prevents club hopping. As a club owner I kind of like it.

Not sure how long it lasts though. A few hours?

Re: Wait time to join different EASHL team?

it lasts 24 hours and when combined with the 1 dressing room rule, is the most ridiculous decision ever.

It effectively kills competitive 6 v 6 hockey

Either you run a team with 6 or 7 guys and risk not having everyone on most of the time, in which case you have to play 3's or 4's, whatever... or you have a team of 15 to guarantee 6's, but if more than 6 are on people are forced to sit out.

Anyone who only plays 6's (or occasionally 5's) is SOL. Anyone who has a boatload of friends who all like to play NHL together with whoever happens to be on at the time is SOL. Call me crazy, but I play this game to have fun with my friends, and apparently that doesn't mesh with EA's agenda of catering to the leaderboard watchers.

If you hate this 24 hour "cooldown" period, please go to the EA forums and make your voice heard... the devs are reading those forums and have said the cooldown time is subject to change depending on the communities reaction (and there was already a good amount of pre-release complaints).

Just found out on the EA boards that the wait time is 24 hours. That just seems like overkill for me.

I can understand it come playoff time, but when you have multiple groups of friends that play OTP it's a pain in the ***.

Go play OTP and wait until a game opens up on your team.

I agree with you... I love this feature... Wishing it was more like 72 hours versus 24 to minimize the club hopping.
If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.

Wait a minute...Does this mean if I go into OTP as a random (I dont belong to any specific team) and play a pickup game of hockey with guys I dont know, I cant leave the game after it ends and re do the whole thing. In other words go back into the lobby and join another group of randoms for another pickup game of 6vs6. I have to wait another 24 hrs or play with the same 6 guys I played with in the FIRST game?? Please clarify.

No..OTP you can keep playing. EASHL you can't keep joining different clubs every 5 minutes.

Re: Wait time to join different EASHL team?

ea is catering the game to the miniscule percentage of the playerbase that have like 2 friends who play nhl12 that play 3v3 and only care about the stupid leaderboards. they're basically systematically phasing out the whole teamplay aspect of the game with the 1 dressing room, and stupid cooldown period. wouldn't be a big deal if you could just play fun otp games, but wait they've made no improvements to that mode in 3 years, so that's basically 2 on 2 hockey 5 minutes into the game.

I think you should have to wait 24 hours if you leave your second club of that day.

So, I leave club 1 to join club 2 and don't have to wait. If I want to leave that club to return to club 1 or join club 3 I should have to wait the 24 hours.

                    Thoughts?

I favored the wait time, but I like this idea better... It's a few, (and several are on these forums) that create a new team a week, play for three or four teams a day, that it stops.

As someone said, catering to a few miniscule people, I disagree... If you want to play with a bunch of different guys, play OTP, don't club hop... LAME!!!

Re: Wait time to join different EASHL team?

The best way to do it, would be to allow players to join 'upto' three teams at any one time.

So if you have a club of maybe 18 people, then all 18 of you can set up:

                        MYTEAM1
                        MYTEAM2
                        MYTEAM3

Each team gets a single leaderboard position, yet you can still swap around with your mates without worrying about someone missing out. Then throw in a 48 hour cool down should you leave one of those clubs to join another club.

It should also solve the problem some had with multiple dressing rooms, whereby one team could play 4 times as many games as another team in the same period of time to boost leaderboard position.

The best solution is to get rid of the one dressing room rule and simply don't count the record of the second team. Problem solved.

Those who care about the leaderboards can be happy because a team can't pick up multiple wins by playing several games at the same time, and more importantly, those who want to play hockey online with their friends don't have to worry about having more than 6 friends online at the same time.
