I absolutely love winter in Minnesota. In fact if it was winter 9 months out of the year and 70 degree sunny days the other three months, I would be in heaven. I wouldn't have MN weather any other way. There's something about the snow, pond hockey, blizzards, and below freezing weather that I love. Even walking 15 minutes to class is great in the below 0 weather. I just like it for some reason where a lot of other people don't. Maybe it's just because I've adapted to it. Plus there is honestly no better place in the world then Christmas in MN. Colorado, Canada, and other snowy places may compare, but to me MN is the absolute best.
All I know is that hockey season is fast approaching. I don't think I've ever anticipated a hockey season more than this one. All of the right things have fallen into place. The Twins suck this year but still watch every game, I love football but the Vikings, Broncos, and Wolverines only play once a week, and the Wild finally changed their team up to add a little interest back into the team. Nothing could be better. I just pray that I'm watching Wild playoff hockey in April.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: It was a long slog, but I am stoked tomorrow is finally approaching
Honestly, I was luke warm on buying the game and was really unhappy reading gameinformer's review. The Be a GM mode is the main thing I play and they said it was essentially broken. But I bought the season ticket for Madden mostly (hated it and never bought the game) so I had a 3 day preview of NHL12
And I love it.
Is it perfect? No, but that's what patches are for. Gameinformer said in its review that the CPU teams in be a gm mode dont resign their prospects which i found to be a total falsehood. They may not sign some of their prospects right away but they still retain their rights they arent released into free agency. I saw NJ sign Adam Larsson (2011 1st round pick) to a 3 year entry level deal after year one but not sign Reece Scarlett(2011 3rd round pick). But Scarlett is still Devils property and isnt released into free agency as you still have to trade for him to get him although he doesn't have a contract. In real life NHL teams have 2 years to sign CHL prospects and although they may not be signed they still retain their rights and can still be traded up to 2 years after they're drafted.
So I dont put a lot of stock in gameinformer's review which if i didnt have the season ticket i would have and not gotten the game.
So there you have it.
Highly recommend NHL12.Comment

Re: It was a long slog, but I am stoked tomorrow is finally approaching
Snagging my copy after work, really enjoyed my time with the early release build. Hoping the GM stuff works it way out with the standings and the like but when it comes to gameplay at least for me on SS with tweaked sliders, the game plays prolly the best game of hockey I've seen in a video game. Not without it's issues obviously, still would like to see more neutral zone pressure and the cpu get into the offensive zone with a purpose rather than do alot of passing back to dmen if you clog up the passing lanes but over all the offline game this year is such a huge improvement AI wise, and also with all the various tweaks and additions. (Live goalies, puck physics, gamestory type stat tracking/overlays etc)Comment
