Nice work. It will be interesting to see if real player heads/faces (forsberg) from previous games can be used so we can create somewhat realistic legend teams. I have a feeling they are as Alexei Yashins real face was just put into the newest update.

There is no doubt in my mind that old data is still there. I've extracted a lot of the EA .BIG files in the game directory and I've seen references to NHL 10 in many files. So in theory, you could add guys like Lidstrom back in the game if you had the correct portrait/face id's, etc etc.

Sounds good. If this editor is compatible with older sys.dat files it might make finding player ID's easier.

I tried this for xbox 360 and just couldn't figure it out. Luckily I have a ps3 also. I think it is extremely commendable what u are doing, and on behalf of the os community, we say thank you!

the whole concept of what this editor can provide is fascinating. I seriously can't wait to do EA's job correctly, if we are given such ability. Turning white players black and vice versa, correct handedness etc... I hope there is a lot to this!

This seems too good to be true! Op you're awesome, thank you. So many little things in gm drive me nuts. For example, I drafted a goalie 2nd overalls up ended up being 76 rating with 4.5 yellow stars.....his name is earl Hutton...he's from Korea....and he's black .

This would give gm mode so much more longevity, being able to fix ridiculous contracts deep into gm mode, so not every team is against the cap and good free agents wont be stuck in free agency.

For example, I'm in off-season 2016, and Ryan kesler wants 6.5 million a season. Despite the fact he only had 35 points this year playing on my 2nd line and 45 the year before that. It is so dumb players will demand money like that when their performance in game has not been that good.

What is really dumb is locking these things in the first place. I don't know if they think it would hurt sales or something, but I think it would create sales because it improves the playability so much. Incredible value added. I DON'T buy this game every year because I know I'll be frustrated by the stuff on lockdown. It's my game - let me play it how I want. So stupid. And it seems we're getting further and further away, in sports games (see Madden) from being able to edit and tune the game to our liking. Terrible. I honestly can see me not being a part of the next gen consoles because of these changes.

Didn't someone alter an attribute in NHL10 that drastically changed this game?
It unlocked new animations and made a larger separation between the various skills?

will you be able to change any players name too, right there on that screen??
if so, I'll finally be able to create my roller hockey team in less than a year.

cant wait for this. great job

Well, share it to us.. If theres a similiar editor for xbox360, I personally wanna know.

this looks soo good and i bet that if this will work and ps3 rosters are editable with computer, then it doesnt take long to wait a similiar editor for xbox360 since the file construction is pretty much the same.
