Well crap. Do you happen to know if the EA DB Editor will work for these purposes?

FYI, I've managed to bang my head against the wall long enough that I've managed to make some progress, based on finding an updated games.conf file for BruteForce, and following page 23 of this thread.


I've gotten to the point where I've successfully opened my Be A GM file in EA DB Editor, and can verify that the player info is correct.


Now whether I can edit it, and get it back into my PS3, we'll see.


Edit: I'm not actually going to test it in my PS3 for a little while, but here are my tentative steps, assuming that you actually have a games.conf file for BruteForce that tells it what to do with NHL Legacy Edition:

Copy save folder to this directory
Open BruteForce as Admin
Point to save directory in BruteForce
Show all files
Decrypt All
Open NHL DB Patcher, and "Extract Database" to create SYS-DATA and .db files
Open EA DB Editor, and open .db file
Make changes and save
Open NHL DB Patcher, and "Patch Database"
Open BruteForce, and Encrypt
Copy back to PS3

I probably should have asked this here, instead of in the 2020-2021 roster thread:


Has anyone ever been able to change the team colors using EA DB Editor? The fields are there, and I changed them, but the same colors are used in game. Is it possible to change them? San Antonio's black and white are so boring...

So I've downloaded the roster for the STL blues 95-96 season, but Brett Hull and others have generic faces. Can someone please explain or share a link with how I can fix this? Install face packs? Thanks if you can help!
