Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
Hey guys. I'm on 360 and I really want to learn how to use the DB editor. I've already attempted to use it but it says "unhandled exception has occurred in your application" when I go to extract a roster.
Anyone mind helping me out?Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
are you using the right .xml file? there have been .xml files for a BaGM save, a roster save, and a season save. You have to load the correct .xml first for the appropriate save typeComment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
What about arenas? Anyone find any hidden ones? Or specifically one with no board ads?
And how about the Bauer 4500 helmet strap color? The straps always take the color of the helmet, which is fine if the helmet is white, but if it's red it looks weird.Last edited by Dougie_G_93; 02-27-2014, 11:44 PM.Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
I'm trying to assign the Bauer 4500 to a player. Within the DB Editor, this would involve changing the number under which column? The column entitled "helmetbrand" within the "Skater Equipment" Tab? Because all of the players have a '0' there, I'm thinking this cannot be correct...Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
If all skaters have a 0 for helmetbrand it's either a problem with your .xml or your .db.
Most likely it's the .xml
But make sure your looking at the "player equipment" and not team equipment tab.Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
Thanks, Dougie. I am currently using the .xml file from DPyro's website/the OP in this thread. Perhaps my .db is not being extracted correctly? Sure seems fine otherwise. I was operating off of the Revamped Trade Deadline rosters and all players are on the right teams, etc...
I downloaded the Revamped Deadline rosters for North American PS3. I extracted the 'PS3' Folder, put the PS3 Folder on a thumb drive, inserted it into my PS3, copied it to my PS3 hard drive, then removed the flash drive. Went to my comp and deleted the PS3 folder from the thumb drive. Back at the console, I fired up the NHL14, loaded the Revamped Deadline rosters, saved as a new roster "My Revamped Deadline", and returned to the PS3 Home Screen. Once there, I popped the thumb drive back in to the PS3 and transferred the "My Revamped Deadline" roster to the PS3.
Back at the comp, I inserted the thumb drive and copied the PS3 folder into my BruteForce SaveData folder. Within BruteForce, I right-clicked on the 'SYS-DATA' portion of the PS3 folder and performed the 'Decrypt pfd' function. I then closed the BruteForce program.
Within windows, I copied the (now-decrypted) SYS-DATA from the 'PS3' folder in the BruteForce folder into my DB Patcher folder. I ran DB Patcher (selecting the 'PS3', 'NHL14', and 'Roster' fields) and extrated the .db by selecting the SYS-DATA file from within the DB Patcher folder. I then ran the Generic EA DB Editor. Once the Editor fired-up, I selected 'File' -> 'Load Config' and loaded the .xml from DPyro's website (for NHL14). Then, 'File' -> 'Open' -> I opened the .db.
Within the .db, Players have various different skates, sticks, jersey tucks, shoulder pads, pants brands (I didn't even know this was a thing?!?!), etc., but every single player has a '0' under the 'helmetbrand' column within the 'Player Equipment' tab.
Is there something wrong with my process? For instance, a la a Horizon/XBTaf XBOX user, should I not have shut-down BruteForce before extracting the .db using DB Patcher?
Alternatively, am I using the wrong .xml? Could someone who's having success with, say, helmet editing provide me with a copy of his .xml?

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
Update: I've been using an old .xml. Seems to have been the source of my confusion/frustration. Props to Moose24x for setting me straight over in the "EA Roster Tools" thread. For those who want a tutorial, the step-by-step writeup I posted above works. Just 1) make sure you use an updated .xml (e.g. The ones found in page 44 of the "EA Roster Tools" thread) and 2) nevermind the second-guessing I go through about closing programs at the end of the post.Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
not sure yet, havent gotten that far..... sorry didnt mean to make it seem like I knew there was some
what I did do is assign all the current gear to goalies, then Ill go into DB and write down the numbers and then assign the numbers NOT being used to other goalies to see what is hidden (if any)
so no clue yet, I would assume there is though (or hope there is)Comment

Re: NHL14 db Pro Shop
I would assume there is, we know EA is too lazy to remove stuff from the game.Comment
